An old STEM truism is that a camel is a horse designed by a committee.
A committee dilutes responsibility. It is thus a favorite tool of the Left. Failure can be hidden, and Democrats specialize in failure.

My sister is an excellent middle school math teacher in Baltimore. STEM used to be exempt, but that exemption has disappeared in the last 10 years. Every district in the country is desperate for good math teachers, but it seems that WOKE takes priority everywhere these days.
My sister is fearful to open her mouth at all thinking on any topic because she feels they are looking for any excuse to get rid of her (she is consistently the highest rated math teacher).
In her ten years there, the faculty has inverted from 80/20 white/black to 80/20 black/white. The popular current “thinking” is that only black teachers can teach black kids. The dominant culture there won’t be satisfied until it is 100/0 black/white teachers. Whether the teachers are good or get results is irrelevant.
This is happening in all math and sciences departments all over the country. Just take a look at any education journal these days. You will be appalled.

Maybe your sister should start looking at private schools to teach at. Excellence always finds a way.
