Cheney takes on Trump

Rep. Liz Cheney has suddenly become one of the most outspoken GOP critics of Donald Trump.

Even more surprising: The Wyoming Republican hasn’t faced any serious blowback from the president.

Criticizing Trump is not new for Cheney, the No. 3 House Republican. But she has increasingly called out Trump over his foreign policy decisions and leadership during the coronavirus crisis — a risky move in today’s GOP, where any break with Trump can fuel a primary challenge or nasty Twitter tirade from the president.

But Cheney’s found a balancing act that few Republicans have been able to achieve. And as the prospect of a post-Trump GOP begins to come into view, her relative independence from the president could position her for another rapid rise in party leadership.

“She’s got values, she’s got guts, and she says what’s on her mind. That resonates with a lot of people,” said Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.).

In her latest rebuke of Trump, Cheney openly questioned whether the president was aware of reports that the Russians offered Afghan militants bounties to kill U.S. troops and demanded the administration take a more aggressive posture toward the Kremlin.

And a few days before, Cheney took a veiled shot at Trump by tweeting out a photo of her dad wearing a mask with the caption: “Dick Cheney says WEAR A MASK. #realmenwearmasks” — the same phrase that Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been using to take digs at Trump ...

Those guys side with the citizens and the rule of law.
To advance in the GOP House leadership you must be a Cheap Labor Express stooge committed to turning the USA into North Mexico.

He’s doing what they appointed him to do.

Neocons unhappy about troop withdrawals from Afghanistan and Germany. This “crisis” is payback. Cheney, like her father, wants a robust interventionist foreign policy, i. e., endless wars.

Another “perpetual-war” Cheney. She and her old man need to sit down and shut up - people like them have spilled enough American blood for nothing.

Why would they offer “Bounties” to Taliban to kill Americans? They were already doing it for free and with great enthusiasm.

It’s very sad when People we supported in the past turn out to be enablers of our Enemies.

I have to hand it to the DEMONcRATS, they stick together like Glue no matter what.

This is the difference between pro trump republicans and anti trump republicans. Do you want the swamp to send our military all over the world. If yes vote against Trump. Our military is in a lot of places for reasons beyond the public’s understanding. We are mercenaries. The US army can’t be bothered to protect our border or DC. But they can be in Afghanistan and Syria and Iran. With threatening populations and threatening governments. Our military does a horrible job as ambassadors for America. Look at the Philippines. We are not wanted there after 100 years of bases. Our troops are not liked by the locals. Vietnam without any US military is friendlier to us.

People in both parties wear masks... and people in both parties don’t.

Saw lots of black looters with no masks... saw lots of patriots without masks too.

One is open now and she talked about running, but Loomis, who was Cheney’s predesessor decided to run and is running. The open seat is from Enzi retiring. I’m in Wyoming and Cheney is a disappointment to me. She is Romney light, always opening her mouth before she knows the full story — and, it is normally to bash Trump. I’ll never vote for her for a Senate seat and will have to really thing about voting for her in her House seat. She is doing what all Rhinos have done, rely on the “any Republican is better than a Democrat” philosophy.

Not sure that there would be a next time for Trump if he loses this time. Biden is on record saying he will let the DncOJ pursue Trump, which it has been trying to do for years already. A Democrat executive branch will apply the full force of the federal government and deep state courts to destroying Trump, his family, anyone who worked for him, etc. They have been trying for five years so it’s not really a secret what their intentions are.

Cheney is a carpetbagging POS. Never lived in Wyoming until well into adulthood. Grew up in DC with her draft dodging grifter dad.

So Lizzy... who exactly would think up the idea of PAYING CASH to Afghans to kill the enemy? Broke Russia? OR does that sound more like something invented in the mind of someone who has just spent 19 years dumping cash on the country PAYING AFGHANS to do what they want? The US INTEL COMMUNITY.

Also, in the exceedingly unlikely event that some goat humper actually DID tell our intel guys this “story”, did it ever occur to our “intelligence” guys that the most famous middlemen in human history might have been playing them, negotiating, trying to hike the price on what the USA pays them to NOT shoot at our guys? “Yes, American overlord, the Russians pay us *much* more to shoot at your men than you pay us NOT to...”.
It’s obvious...to everyone except our east coast millennial intel people who have never had to haggle over the price of a goat.

Morons. We are a nation run by blithering idiot morons.
