There are many communities around the country who respect and honor their police.
It should be a no-brainer for NYC cops to get those resumes out there and get moving...

That is a good point. Those unions need to step up to the plate and fight — right now they seem to be just laying low and hoping the furor will pass. An effective PR campaign is badly needed.

After 9/11 Mayor Bloomberg was asked when the city would replace the 343 firemen who died; he responded that they wouldn’t, as they had been looking at closing firehouses anyway. That was 20 years ago.
