New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) expanded the state’s mandatory quarantine to include travelers from eight additional states experiencing spikes in coronavirus cases.

The mandatory 14-day quarantine now includes travelers from California, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada and Tennessee.

"If you're traveling to New York from the following states you must self-quarantine for 14 days.

The states are: AL, AR, AZ, CA, FL, GA, IA, ID, LA, MS, NC, NV, SC, TN, TX, UT.

— Andrew Cuomo (@NYGovCuomo) June 30, 2020"

Last week New York, New Jersey and Connecticut announced a joint travel advisory requiring travelers from states with an infection rate above 10 cases per 100,000 people on a seven-day rolling average to quarantine when entering their states.

No reason to go to NY when their restaurants and beaches are not functioning.

Maine says they’ll accept a negative WuFlu test result from within 72 hours of entering the state.

Have you tried to get a rapid PCR test?

In my neck of the woods they’re only available for first responders.

But these same democrat clowns are in favor of wide open international borders with no way of checking whether anyone entering the USA either legally or illegally is potentially contagious.

Thankfully; no one really wants to come to NY, NJ or CT from any of the listed states. The migration is flowing in the opposite direction.

I am currently residing in NJ and I was planning a trip to the Smoky Mountains in the fall, but I see that Tennessee is on the quarantine list, so I will have to postpone making any cabin reservations, buying plane tickets, etc. It sucks, but this is where we are now. If am lucky enough to have my job become permanently remote (low % chance), then I will only need to make a one-way trip to TN.

I don't see how the US remains a single, unified nation for much longer. The differences in ideology, values and appreciation for freedom differs tremendously from place to place, even within the same state.

Cuomo has warning signage on electronic billboards welcoming people into the state.

Charming, eh?

Wish someone would hack those and replace the threatening messages with “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.”

Nice try, Mister "Terminator" Cuomo; but a poor performance at mis-direction, and an obvious publicity stunt.

You have few worries about the chinese virus when so many new cases are from inter-newyorkial transmission.

A Vampire State quarantine aimed at other states' residents is really like Rikers Island instructing the guards to change from keeping prisoners within the walls to then guard against criminals trying to break in.

And, regardless of the palpable deceit in the "quarantine", I will respect it, and stay away from New York for, hmm, what's a prudent length of time? How about ... ever.

No state can quarantine a resident from another state period.

Certainly seems that since such a move dramatically impacts interstate commerce the only ones who legally could would be the feds.

Have they stopped testing people in NYC? Hard to believe the protesters aren’t testing positive.

No reason to go to NY period... I’ll drive up around through Canada to get to Maine to visit friends rather than pay the tolls.

What Cuomo is trying to do is unconstitutional, as noted in a lawsuit against Hawaii that the DOJ has joined. From the DOJ filing: “[t]he Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.” U.S. Const., art. IV, § 2.” You can’t treat citizens of one state differently than the citizens of your state.

You raise a great point. Hundreds if not thousands of trucks with physical goods as well as food are transporting their freight across state lines into NY, NJ & CT daily.

Do the trucks and their cargo have to sit for 14 days before being unloaded if they came from one of the states identified by Fredo's big brother? Should work wonderfully for perishable cargo.

*The only reason that NY cases are going down is that they have run out of old people to kill.*

Or maybe they slowed down on their testing.

In March, Cuomo said that any attempts to put NY residents in quarantine for 14 days when traveling to Florida were "an act of war".
