I think you could probably get an acoustic reflection off the gold/titanius interface. Although the density may be close other physical properties (Young’s Modulus) may allow for such a reflection. I’m gunna work on a probe that do that. It would sort of be like a gold bar ultrasound.

There are also tests based on the difference in paramagnetic/diamagnetic properties of gold vs. tungsten.
