I actually read “Great Expectations” in 9th Grade. That work could be called “Watching Paint Dry”, as far as I’m concerned.

Oh come on...that's what most Thomas Hardy books are; "watching paint dry"! THE MAYOR OF CASTERBRIDGE is far worse than ANYTHING Dickens wrote for sheer boredom; though it made for a really good Brit series. And TESS OF THE D'URBERVILLES is pretty good.
