I read that when Scott took that little tumble in the War Room and rolled back up on his feet, that was all Scott, unscripted. They said that Kubrick wasn’t happy with Scott’s more serious portrayal of Turgidson, so he told Scott to overplay the part in the practice takes, and Kubrick secretly left the cameras rolling. When Kubrick added the scenes to the final cut, Scott swore he’d never work with Kubrick again. Scott was great, and so was the movie.
“...Scott was great, and so was the movie...”
Yes he was..but the part that had me laughing the most was Sellers in the wheel chair as Strangelove...that Hitler-tuned arm he could not control...I still get a major laugh out of that. Perfect humor!
