President Trump on Sunday cautioned against universal vote-by-mail while defending absentee voting which he said is safer due to the process warning that bad things happen with mail-ins and pointing to the recent voter fraud scheme involving Democrats in New Jersey.
Absentee Ballots are fine. A person has to go through a process to get and use them, explained Trump, who has received criticism from Democrats for utilizing absentee voting himself.
Mail-In Voting, on the other hand, will lead to the most corrupt Election is USA history. Bad things happen with Mail-Ins, he warned. Just look at Special Election in Patterson, N.J. 19% of Ballots a FRAUD!

Yes this works well for the base voter, and behind the scenes we need to send a message we will prosecute for voter fraud. But for political speak did we not learn a long time ago symbolism over substance works for a large amount of voters and its not what you say but how you say that is everything.
Why can't we say I understand the concern and will approve any voting mechanism but unfortunately this is not secure and I can not support this. Or I understand the Covid-19 concerns and am sympathetic to voter by mail but only when it can be shown to be secure.
Are these the same advisers telling him to be patient with the protestors while private citizens have to go armed to their front doors to protect themselves.
It is time to put Bannon and Conway back in charge of your message President Trump.
Uh...NO.
With absentee voting you must request a ballot to a specific address. With mail in voting you flood the country with ballot applications that anyone can return. There is a huge difference.
Yes, to not recognize and understand the difference is disingenuous at best.
All mail-in ballots require a fingerprint, placed on file during registration to receive mail-in ballots. Walk-in voting at a precinct to receive purple dye on a finger to prevent duplicate voting, and a check of real-ID prior to voting.
Best way to reduce fraud is to prevent it. Alternative way to prevent fraud is to eliminate democrat workers who handle ballots, including mail deliverers.
President Trump writes his own message.
President Trump can't possibly oppose absentee voting. Half his senior staff in the White House probably vote using absentee ballots, since many of them are registered to vote outside the District of Columbia.
And anybody can steal ballots from mailboxes as happened recently in NJ. People don't notice because they didn't know to expect them.
Yes. What is the big deal here? I have no issue with legitimate absentee ballot voting.
I despise and detest early voting and efforts to establish widespread main in voting.
I see those as two entirely different things.
Wouldnt work. States control the elections. Thats why we are going to loose everything this November.
Absentee voting and early voting (unlike mail voting) is the way I have been voting for years along with many other working class people who are unable to go stand in line and vote in person. Here you must go to your local city hall and pick up your ballot in person and either vote there on the spot and turn it in or go home and vote and return to the city hall and turn it in, sealed.
You still have to request the ballot come to a specific address.
“With absentee voting you must request a ballot to a specific address.”
It’s not a problem at the voter’s end. The problem is that when you return the ballot, you must sign the envelope and indicate your address. When the ballot is received back at the Elections Office, it’s easy for the workers to check the voter rolls where your party affiliation is noted. Easy to trash the ones they’d rather not have counted. You have to totally and completely trust every worker in the GOVERNMENT Elections Office. Do you?
Also, often Absentee Ballots are set aside to be counted later and sometimes they’re never counted at all. This happens especially with military ballots. They’ll count the Absentees is the election is so close that those ballots might make a difference.
These may not be issues any more, but when I ran elections in a large city, that was the deal.
I think they’re a problem.
