I have had the same experience with legal African immigrants in this country.

They come to a place where life is hard. Many are Christians who were being oppressed by Muslims back home. They genuinely appreciate this country and all it’s blessings and can’t understand why people who were lucky enough to be born here are always griping.

Most Africans are not fans of African-Americans. 
It's like tribalism. I grew up in Rockland County, NY. Spring Valley has a large Caribbean community. I've seen more animosity between them and "native born" Blacks than across racial lines.
