Why does Trump even use that song in the first place? It is not a good campaign rally song in any objective measure.

Use classical music.

It’s not meant to be a good campaign song. It’s meant to pump up the audience—which it does. A Trump rally is more like a big party than a campaign event. If you watch, you’ll see people smiling and having a great time. People don’t sit somberly listening like the four at the recent Biden event.

Classical music is boring all to hell and back for a political rally-a rally for pres Trump isn’t the opening of an art museum exhibit or a reception for British royalty...

It isn’t supposed to be a “campaign song” or a patriotic song-it isn’t being played in that context-it is a song that two generations of voters are familiar with and most of us listen to on the classic rock stations all the time, so he is appealing to the crowd-boring music turns people off at rallies...

“Use classical music.”

Classical music has its place, and it’s fun to play on the piano. But at a rally?!? NFW. It would bore people to tears. If I knew classical or jazz would be played at a rally, I absolutely positively would not go.

Play what the attendees know, and what they remember from their youth — and what they can dance to.
