I’m shocked but not surprised. Since childhood, I’d always seen descent into perversion as a precursor of decline in all great civilizations; even the late judge Bork confirmed that this sequence of events is a historical phenomenon. As a Bible-believing Christian, I’ve been expecting something like this for decades precisely because the end-time collapse is prophesied along with a resurgence of “Sodom.”
Knowing it would happen doesn’t make it any less depressing to actually see it.
