Somebody explain it to me, because I fail to see any logical connection.

Trump is a hugely successful workaholic. He believes in Americans working hard to get what they need.

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes
Well, you just might find
You get what you need

I think that's the part of the song he likes. The rest of the lyrics make little sense.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Personally, I’d finish with Glenn Miller’s “St. Louis Blues March.”

But then, I’m a traditionalist in all things. I always thought the British Invasion was payback for Saratoga, Yorktown, and New Orleans.

*The rest of the lyrics make little sense.*

You should think about Hillary and Benghazi when it’s playing. Makes perfect sense then.

“I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practiced at the art of deception
Well, I could tell by her blood-stained hands”

And then she lost the election to Trump. No, Hillary, you don’t always get what you want.

The Stones might not have been thinking about Hillary when they wrote it, but it fits her quite well.
