Lefties are way too into punishing people for any infraction way beyond what the law allows. I am convinced that is a weakness that has led to trying to get people fired for disagreeing with them, or cancelled. Going 180 degrees in the opposite direction isnt a good solution either. They should just learn to chill out and try to find a reasonable balance.
I read an article posted here on FR a few days ago about the store owners who called the cops on Floyd. They stated that they thought he was drunk and couldn’t imagine that he would try to drive away in that condition. Apparently, it wasn’t “just” the counterfeit $20.00 bill that concerned them. Floyd may well have been so messed up on Fentanyl that he couldn’t walk properly.
To follow up on my last post, I found this. It details what the symptoms can be of Fentanyl abuse.

Notice what it says under “more severe developments”.
Apparently they did take the $20 and realized afterward that it was fake. Ive worked retail and if we did something like that it would have come out of our pockets. It was our store policy to not call the cops on fake bills because we never knew if the person had them because they were themselves the victim or if they were passing them with the intent to defraud. I did have a lady try to pass me a fake bill once, it was a $20 and she got very nasty, threatening, and belligerent when I handed it back and asked for an alternative payment method. Had I left my station, I could have been fired, so there would have been no chasing the guy out to the car for me. I can see them trying to be nice and keeping him from hurting himself or others with the car, but apparently he sat in the car and never moved. The emphasis in the call seemed to be on the money. Would the call have been made if Floyd had given the cigarettes back? Well never know. I imagine that clerk must be going through a lot now as a result of this tragedy.
We did have an overdose once in the store, but the girl collapsed and was having seizures. 911 sent us medical people, not cops.
The law requires them to call. When counterfeit cash is passed
What about all the counterfeit bills that get caught at the bank? All they do is short the deposit by however much it was and whoevers deposit it was has to eat it.
