As a young radical, I refused to sing the star spangled banner at age 11. My father, the elder radical, argued against that, telling me that the question “oh, say does that star spangled banner yet wave o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave” was a valid moral question that requires critical introspection. I was wrong, and I was only 11. These nitwits are now just as wrong, and they are not so young as I was. They aren’t just wrong, they are mendacious.
