My daughter and son-in-law live in North Idaho, close to Spokane. He is a LEO and she is the best shot at the gun range. They also have a gun range on their back 40. Great house out in the country.
They and many neighbors upgraded weapons because they are afraid that WA crazies will come to ID and start forest fires. Fire risk is always pretty high up there and Republicans rule.
In fact the rioting and looting probably play little to no role in their decision to purchase a firearm. 8>)

I've never seen a panic-buying spree like this. Not in the run-up to the 1994 AWB, not the Great Primer Famine of '95, not in the aftermath of all of the school shootings. It's probably the biggest run on guns, ammo, and accessories in U.S. history.
There are no retail guns except gas-operated shotguns, a few hunting rifles, and revolvers.
Even Midway and Brownells are sold out of a lot of stuff. All of the online mail-order AR-15 build kits are sold out.
Interestingly, Academy sill had plenty of Grendel, Creedmoor, and Blackout ammo and a small quantity of .223. Everyone wants the .308 and military stuff: 5.56 and 7.62. No magazines. No buckshot or slugs. No .22. Only a few oddball revolver calibers.
Think ahead, buy you reloading supplies and equipment.
For those of us who enjoy ‘precision’ shooting, practice hitting hand sized targets at fifty or one hundred yards ... the fire terrorists have to hold their fuels to toss them. They make nice candles to light the night, when their containers go up in their close procimity.

Require them to be paid Members of the NRA or GAO in order to buy a Weapon.
If they won’t allow you to take a Picture of them wearing a MAGA Hat to put in the Window, refuse to sell them a Weapon.

Most of my relatives are hunters so they won’t be needing to make runs to stores to load up on supplies should gubamint leaders not address and work to end this senseless violence and current state of anarchy that has taken over Minnesota.
Goes without saying, only a couple have bows, but all have other means to defend and preserve their legacies as God-fearing citizens that will not bow to PCism or those who use racism to conquer and destroy society as a whole.
