If those statistics included only the I JUST GOT INFECTED cases, it would have meaning. Since that is impossible to determine without doing testing every hour or so, those figures don’t indicate any kind of conclusion.

He is wrong. To be effective a homemade mask needs to be about the thickness of a 600 thread count cotton sheet. It must also be fitted so that there are no gaps. Can anyone imagine how that would feel in the hot humid Florida climate? People would be dropping form heat exhaustion. There is also the matter of O2 depletion.
Here is an example of a mask material that worked to keep out a majority of aerosol droplets (lab test not real life application) A layer of quilt batting between layers of 600 thread count cotton. Who could wear a quilt on their face for any amount of time?
