Protesters tore down statues of Forward and a Union Civil War colonel, assaulted a state senator and set a small fire in a city building Downtown on Tuesday night after the arrest of a Black activist earlier in the day.......

.......Protesters wrapped chains around “Forward,” the bronze statue of a woman located at the State Street corner of Capitol Square, and pulled her down around 10:45 p.m. The sculpture is a replica of a Jean Pond Miner sculpture cast in 1893 and installed in the Capitol in 1895 that was designed as an allegory for devotion and progress, the embodiment of her home state.

Protesters set their sights on another statue, one of Col. Hans Christian Heg at the top of King Street, tore it down and dragged it into Lake Monona. Heg was a Norwegian immigrant and journalist who died of his wounds at the Battle of Chickamauga fighting to preserve the United States and end slavery.......

......Some protesters punched State Sen. Tim Carpenter, D-Milwaukee, in the face after the lawmaker tried taking a picture, according to multiple reporters on the scene. Carpenter had been headed to the Capitol to get some work done late Tuesday evening.

“I’m heartbroken,” Verveer, who represents the Downtown area, said as midnight approached. “It’s so overwhelming right now to see this violence on the streets to this extent. I don’t know when this will ever end.”......

Sooooo I have to ask why isn’t Trump doing anything? These statues legally belong to the American people not one city. Can’t Trump send in the troops to defend the statues?

They are out there on YouTube and social media, but the same mechanisms used to suppress conservatives and other ‘wrong thinkers’ are equally effective against them.

Send in US troops to protect the legacy of the federal government.

Too bad because what else then can he do? Can’t get the FBI to do it since they are against the POTUS.

The state has to call for aid or roll out the Guard first. He can prosecute the people that pulled down the General’s statue under Federal law. Unfortunately, I don’t see that this particular set has crossed the line into insurrection.

Estimated statue value is around $9,000,000. Liberal Senator (he’s on their side) beaten to pulp because he was taking photos contrary to riot organizer’s orders as cops ordered to stand down

and the dem gov, evers, made the lamest statement possible about this lawlessness in the capitol, and because the authorities did not meet this nascent anarchy right off the bat with sufficient force to squash it in its infancy, it’s guaranteed to continue to grow unchecked UNTIL it is finally met with overwhelming force, at which point the authorities will have allowed massive, pointless destruction to take place as well as end with a violence with far worse optics than if they had just squashed the fetal rebellion right from the get go ...

the hapless, foolish and weakling Dems are DETERMINED to give President Trump a landslide victory ...

well, he did in DC ... but it’s totally a political winner for the nation to continuously observe the anarchy and insurrection that is a consequence of the feckless, ineffectual, and cowardly behavior when Dems are in charge ... in fact, it’s a nice contrast between the action that Trump takes in DC to preserve our national heritage while the Dems allow the wanton destruction of their state heritages by anarchists and insurrectionists ...

Many white people worked in fields (no pun intended lol) and the left spins that right out of history.

My first job was a paperboy, and my father and grandfather were too, them in Iowa, me Pasadena, CA and when an adult in the santa cruz area, specifically Scotts Valley, an area known to be quite conservative.

When in High school I pushed the family lawn mower around my suburban neighborhood and made money that way.
