Lincoln County, Oregon, has exempted non-white people from a new order requiring that face coverings be worn in public to prevent racial profiling.
Health officials announced last week residents must wear face coverings in public settings where they may come within six feet of another individual who is not from the same household.
But people of color do not have to follow the new rule if they have heightened concerns about racial profiling and harassment over wearing the masks, officials said.
No person shall intimidate or harass people who do not comply, health officials said.
With mask requirements becoming more common, activists have raised concerns that the directives could put non-white people in danger.
For many black people, deciding whether or not to wear a bandanna in public to protect themselves and others from contracting coronavirus is a lose-lose situation that can result in life-threatening consequences either way, ReNika Moore, director of the ACLUs Racial Justice Program, told CNN.
Trevon Logan, who is black, said orders to wear face coverings are basically telling people to look dangerous given racial stereotypes that are out there.
This is in the larger context of black men fitting the description of a suspect who has a hood on, who has a face covering on, Logan, an economics professor at Ohio State University, told the outlet.
It looks like almost every criminal sketch of any garden-variety black suspect.

LMAOOOOO. No kidding, can’t tell anyway.
And also makes it easier for the leftist white rioters to hide their identity
So they really dont care if blacks and other PoC catch COVID and die from it at a higher rate then whites, do they?
But the prisons are fifty percent black.
Exactly. Still waiting to find these elusive transparent/translucent/crystalline/colorless/"see through" skin people.
Funny how one can place a piece of paper, or a white napkin (for example) up against the skin of a "white" person...and the two colors really look nothing alike.
Trump2020
More proof that this face mask obsession is just horse pucky.
Couldn’t that be seen as racist?
I know that sounds contrived, but Blacks have a harder time
beating this disease. Now they’re telling them to go ahead
and take a risk. “No, don’t worry about that. Laugh, laugh,
giggle, giggle...”
I really doubt that. With the population that low, they tend to assimilate. I probably knew between 5 and 10% of the blacks in county. They were just other folk. If they want to be part of a sub culture, they’d have to move somewhere else.
Anyone complying with that crap deserves to have their ass beaten.
“Lawsuit time...”
Who’s advising government and business leaders on actions to take and rules to make?
Who’s advising people on lawsuits against government and business actions and rules?
Who will make big money no matter how those actions, rules and lawsuits turn out?
This makes me believe they have been lying about this virus all along. They also said that black people were more susceptible to the virus but now they don’t need to wear a mask and protect themselves or others?
Lies everywhere.
I have two young granddaughters who are mixed-race.
It will be interesting to see how they identify. My hope is that they’ll say “Black,” or “White,” at random just to mix things up. They seem to have a lot of their granddad’s sense of humor. :)
Lib logic at it’s finest. Just like abortion pitches to the AA community as being reproductive health when it is decimating their populace.
Racial profiling???? Of what???
Non-whites are expendable? Their lives do not matter? What is the message here?
less air and oxygen for breathing purposes... at least not for white people.
If they share gramps political views all the better!
Unconstitutional.
