He didn’t say tear down monuments for those grievances. He said they cannot tear down the monuments ... they are on gov grounds.. fed gov... and not theirs to take down.
he didn’t include their grievances and the destruction together. lee has been a maybe for Trump since the beginning... when Trump introduced them at one time, he said when there was a no in the mix.. he’s ask.. is it Lee? and Lee smiled at the charge... and he was on a moral fence tonight, but he did not give them the ok to take down monuments or destruct for any reason..

From what I recall, Mike Lee funded by Silicon Valley tech leaders who want big data farms in Utah and want massive expansive of H-1B visa and other programs that deprive US citizens of Tech jobs.

First he said this behavior was not acceptable, the statues belong to someone—it’s up to those people to decide to take down and if it’s public owned it’s up to lawmakers. Vote the lawmakers out if you don’t like their laws. He said these people were lawless and violent. He said it was dangerous to not punish these people.

That’s exactly when he lost me. I’d heard over and over how he was the staunchest of constitutionalists - then when he thought there’d be a political advantage in blaming Trump for the fascists who prevented his rally, he took a leak all over the constitution.

I don’t think Bernie listened to what Mike Lee said. All he said was “these people have a grievance—that’s understandable, BUT....” and then he stated about 5 things that are wrong about their actions. He never once agreed with or had sympathy for any of those vandals.
