I get wanting to leave Seattle, but Phoenix? Not exactly stepping up in the world.

I'm sure many of the workers will be excited about this move. /s

Phoenix is hot as all get out in the summer. And many of these twits seem come from places with relatively nice weather.

Maybe they think of it as improving the odds they’ll harass them for those months?

More sunshine that's for certain. But a long way to the shore....

Our family moved to Phoenix. We like it very much. No snow. Reasonably priced housing. Reasonable property taxes. Not car hostile (except for the emissions testing). Phenomenal natural wonders only a few hours away in all directions. A convenient airport that flies everywhere. Decent restaurants to cater to every kind of taste and ethnicity. More culturally conservative than most large cities.

For us, it was important that there was a sizable traditional Catholic community and Church, and a good bishop.

Phoenix checked all the boxes, so here we are. If you love snow and four seasons, it may not be for you. If your idea of a great city is its downtown. It also may not be for you.

I wonder how many who didn’t get out of Detriot - or Germany - in time, regretted not getting out?

Comes a time = cut your loses

Phoenix created an aggressive team that goes out and recruits business and private enterprise. I think it’s been around for about a decade now. Primary focus, as you might figure....California businesses.

They are basically selling the idea that you can have same California landscape, California weather, and save in a massive way on real estate, taxes, and cost of living. Another thing often brought up...approval of projects. What takes five to ten years to approve a facility ‘build’ in California...you can do in roughly ten days in Phoenix.

Course, I would agree with you....Phoenix is massive urban sprawl, and just terrible heat in July/August.

You just about had me until I saw the "s" for sarcasm.

I mean the Camelback Corrider in Phoenix is a perfect place for investment firms.

Lots or wealthy people living close by, lots of upscale shopping amenities for clients, and golfing in beautiful weather year round with over 200 courses nearby.

Who wants to headquarter their business in a place where the mayor lets communist thugs burn down your building and stake claim to it as a new country?

Seattle is going to suffer badly from these mistakes the mayor and city council are making in support of rioting, looting, and arson versus protection of businesses' commercial assets.

I hope they take it hard in the ass for not realizing which side of the toast is buttered.
