That may be true to a certain extent, but... Kaepernick's career was in the crapper, and what he did did not cost him money in the long run. Heck he probably made more from Nike after he was released. Whereas Pat Tillman willingly gave up a cushy NFL lifestyle and pay to join the Army, go through Ranger training (?!) and eventually go to Afghanistan. That he was killed by friendly fire is immaterial; he was killed in action regardless. Kaepernick is still alive and kicking and being a pain-in-the-ass. He is no hero.
