The order applies to H-1B visas, H-2B visas, H-4 visas, L-1 visas and certain J-1 visas. It is the latest effort by the Trump administration to satisfy immigration hawks and groups that argue American workers should be prioritized, especially amid the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus

Those who think otherwise really have an uphill battle trying to explain why we need to be importing foreign workers when US unemployment is in the double digits. If there were a real labor shortage to justify guest workers, unemployment would be effectively zero.

Most of the h-1B visas for this year have been allocated but I am still happy!!! Maybe this visa halt could be extended into next year and beyond?? I HOPE SO!!!!!!!!!
I’ll take the gesture and the precedent anytime, especially when it comes to the H1b scabs.
Other than taking jobs from American computer programmers, Immigrants from India are better immigrants. Not many are rabid religious Jihadists, not many are chasing welfare, not many commit violent crimes, and as an ethnic group the most affluent in country. Google, Microsoft have Indian CEO’s.
