No he did not. Vindman’s vehicle was in a roadside bombing incident in which he was wounded. Classic bad luck and wrong place wrong time. Unlike John Kerry, Vindman was really wounded, but his ‘actions’ had nothing to do with it.

They need to cashier his fat ass ASAP.
As a former USAF E-7, I would say H E L L N O. My son is an Air Force officer. I doubt he would want to be anywhere near that chump either.
“As an Army officer, Vindman appears to particularly unimpressive. Is he really the kind of officer we want? Would you want your son or daughter serving under Vindman?”
I usually refrain from speaking out against anyone who has the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and the Purple Heart, but I think an exception is called for here.
It is not impossible that his promotion was on automatic, especially since he has the CIB and Purple Heart. Promotions are considered in huge batches, and it *could* have just slipped through.
Some awards have more weight than others. If you have the Medal of Honor, you get promoted. I hate to think how badly an MOH holder would have to farg up to fail of promotion to O6.
An officer who has the CIB and Purple Heart will be promoted unless there is serious unfavorable information in his jacket. It *could* be that none of the officers who reviewed his record were aware of the kerfluffle, or were aware of his connection to it.
