'Nooses' in Oakland park were exercise aids, man says

The Police Department provided five photographs of trees, some of which showed knotted ropes and one that appeared to have a piece of plastic pipe attached to a rope, hanging from tree limbs.

They have been removed by city officials.

Victor Sengbe, who is black, told KGO-TV that the ropes were part of a rigging that he and his friends used as part of a larger swing system. He also shared video of the swing in use.

“Out of the dozen and hundreds and thousands of people that walked by, no one has thought that it looked anywhere close to a noose. Folks have used it for exercise. It was really a fun addition to the park that we tried to create,” Sengbe said.

Police said several community members came forward during their initial investigation to say the ropes were used for exercise and a man came forward to say he put them up several months ago.

The department said it is conducting a full investigation and had notified the FBI.

Does not matter. It triggered the desired news coverage and the “nevermind” coverage will likely be on the back page or simply ignored.

I’ll call BS on that story. He wanted a noose controversy, while having the cover story of his pre-planned exercise video ready to go.

“The department said it is conducting a full investigation and had notified the FBI.”

Sure, might as well get the FBI investigating unauthorized rope swings in parks. Maybe it will keep them too busy to plot another coup against the sitting President.

This happened before and they were not nooses. They were simply pieces of rope on a fence.

How can you feel like you’re not living in an insane asylum at this point?

Nope just for exercises. Why did they have metal rods through them. hint chin up bars.

The guy even said the city was nuts and other people in the park were using them for months.

Sure glad I bought an annual membership at my local gun shop. I use their indoor range and their ‘laser pistol/active shooter’ video training weekly. Got to work on my situational awareness and recognizing threats so I have a bit of muscle memory and ‘brain memory’. And I live in small town Kansas. Just keeping skills active. Your mileage may vary.

It also happened with some knot tying rope in a hospital closet or something.

The white female mayor, after learning that a bunch of black men put these up for exercise:

“It is incumbent on all of us to know the actual history of racial violence, of terrorism, that a noose represents and that we as a city must remove these terrorizing symbols from the public view.”

You have reached peak liberal when you, a white person, start “liberalsplaining” racial violence to black men.

Some white karen came by and reported it, and the white mayor decided she understood the black plight much better than the black men who were trying to use the park for exercise.
