there’s a reason that Sam Francis referred to the GOP as “the Stupid Party”

It’s an example, and I’m pretty sure you’re able to grasp
that.

Patton wouldn’t pass muster with the Social Justice Republicans.

George Patton was the scion of a family of Confederate officers. He grew up listening to the war stories of family friend and Confederate guerilla John Mosby.

“In the Patton home, there were many mementos of the Civil war; from steel engravings of General Lee and Stonewall Jackson to the shell fragment that was taken from the lifeless body of another Patton hero who died in the Civil War.”

“During George’s childhood, one of the best friends of the Patton family was none-other-than Colonel John S. Mosby, the fabled “Grey Ghost” of J.E.B. Stuart’s legendary cavalry. Patton grew up hearing tales of daring raids and stunning cavalry attacks from the Grey Ghost himself. During visits to the Patton Ranch in Southern California, Colonel Mosby would re-enact the Civil War with George; playing himself, he let George play the part of General Lee as they would recount the battles of the war, astride their horses.

“These firsthand stories, and horseback re-enactments, directed by one of the greatest Guerilla fighters of all time no doubt had a huge influence on Patton. Both his sense of bravery and duty, and his Guerilla like tactics were no doubt heavily influenced by his early exploits with John S. Mosby.

Yes. Thank you for posting this fine history. The Nazis and the Soviets both feared Patton, as a true warrior and strategist- they did not want to go up against him.

So, if we name bases after non-heroes- stupid names like some techno weenie zoomie Air Force “leader”, or some other completely non-warrior inspiration— the future warfighters will have nothing to revere.

So, why not Fort Puller (after Chesty Puller, USMC the Marine’s Marine) and not for a Marine base.

The Army isn’t about to name anything after a Marine. And the Marines would strenuously object if the Army tried to do that, which they won’t. It could even lead to a shooting war with the Army if I know Marines. It’s going to be Camp Puller or nothing.

“both feared Patton, as a true warrior and strategist”

Patton was really a tactical general as opposed to one dealing with strategy. Battlefield tactics were his forte. Strategic planning with its need to focus on transport and supply logistics would have been far too dull for his tastes.
