On Tuesday, the Washington Post once again went after the Washington Redskins nickname, calling the moniker shameful and offensive.
In his editorial, sports columnist Barry Svrluga demanded that NFL team Owner Daniel Snyder eliminate the name his team has had since 1933.
Now is the time. Sorry, long past the time, Svrluga wrote to the NFL owner. If the NFL season opens as planned with training camps this summer, Washingtons team should do so under another name. Under its new name. Whatever that might be. Put it on the ballot, and then mail it in!

When is the Washington Post going to change its name?
WAPO should hire some journalists...if they can find any....
OK, just drop a team name altogether. Just go by “Washington”. If they won’t let them have the Redskins then don’t let them force another name on the team.
Cowboys and Redskins games would never be the same...........................
“””When is the Washington Post going to change its name?”””
Now your just being ridiculous! /s
Blackhawks................
They have to have a huge % of the racial minority vote in national elections in order to win. The difference between black turnout between Hillary and Obama would have won the 2016 election for Hillary. I’m convinced a lot of the current media drama/hysterics over racial tensions is to attempt to kindle the minority enthusiasm for an old white career politician candidate in 2020.
Freegards
Blue Eyed Devils.........................[farrahkahn]............
While we are at it we can remove the word chief from “Chief of Police” and CEO “Chief Executive Officer” and “Chief of Staff”
Lets just ban everything that anybody complains about.
Change it to the Hakowee’s
Name it after people who were important to DC. Former DC mayor Marion Barry and John Dingell who holds the record for longest-ever serving member of Congress in American history.
They will now be known as;
The Washington Dingellbarrys.
San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Angels have got to go too.
There are probably other nicknames which are offensive somehow.
The Green Bay Packers name could be offensive to real Meat Packers.
The Dallas Cowboys may offend real cowboys.
Philadelphia 76ers and New England Patriots harken back to the American Revolution. These revisionist historians today would deem those nicknames offensive because the American Revolution offends their sensibilities.
I’m sure all of the animal nicknames offend organization such as PETA.
George Washington was a slave holder, so the Washington Post must change it’s name.
Washington Dickskins? Seems appropriate.
Let’s not forget the Cleveland Browns, a clear insult to Hispanics. And the Cincinnati Reds are a double insult, to Native Americans AND Communists. Should we include the Chicago WHITE Sox, a clear anti-BLM slur?
I’ll bet someone with enough time on their hands could probably come up with some “insult” based on the nicknames of any of those teams that are involved in athletic endeavors for pay.
Dude - the fact you went to TB when there are some good Mexican places in MD (not as good as Southwest Detroit) they saved you by not serving ya’...
They can do whatever they want, the NFL is dead to me.
I thought they wanted to change the Washington part.
There is no pillar of American society that liberals do not seek to sully and destroy.
Only if the paper changes its name to the "Washington COMPOST"
And why shouldn't it... it's the BIGGEST PIECE of $HIT paper in America.
