I hope it is not needed, but just in case of war, I have thousands of rounds waiting ....Make a plan with your neighbors. Be ready for the worse case
Scenario. I know a couple of career Marines and I listen closely to everything they say. Looking out for each other is the best plan.

...even though all the Confederate Statues were Democrats...

That was then, this is now. Today’s blacks are being played by commies. The Dems may have been losing some to Trump, politically, but they still have plenty on the side of rage and hate for whitey The commies know the fix they’re in. It’s over, if only for a generation, if Trump remains in office and appoints more SCOTUS members. They don’t care about America. They’d rather rebuild from ashes than take a back seat to us.

and 99% of them forget the little, violent phase before a civil war:

settling of debts absent of morality and law.

Rasmussen has Trump approval at negative 13 points (vs disapproval) .And found 62% view Black Lives Matter positively.

The idea that black lives, and all other human lives matter, or the political movement/mobs?

I don't trust Rasmussen.

What are the two sides in an upcoming civil war? White/black? Conservatives/Liberals (commies)? No...the two opposing sides should be normal Americans against the DS driven media. 95% of Americans are like minded and sane, yet the media says otherwise...over and over and over and over and over again.

These Soros driven punks in the street are only a tiny fraction of the population. Pelosi and her ilk are only a tiny fraction of the population. The media trumpets their false girth on our world...their are huge! They are main stream America. Bull$hit...It's smoke and mirrors.

If any one entity should be targeted in a civil war, it should be the DS scripted media. If I could, I would shut all them all down NOW...All...Fox especially!

They are erasing our history as we speak.
_________________________________________________

Here’s a (somewhat) contrarian view:

They are destroying/removing symbols. Most people never even looked at many of those statues or thought much about them.

They have already rewritten the history (Zinn;1619). Neither attempt alters the reality of that history. Some of us remember. Others have guarded paper records (books) and family histories. Many of these will now be able to inform the rest.

IOW: they can mandate public language and behavior, but they cannot mandate thought in most of us.

I’m wondering what fallout occurs? Do more Americans now search out real history in the form of concurrent records/reports/personal writings? During shampeachment, Americans became constitutional scholars, if not experts. During the first 3 months of COVID, Americans became lay virologists, immunologists and epidemiologists. Will Americans now become historians? Certainly, history is no less accessible than the Constitution or basic medical information, perhaps it is even more accessible.

It’s been interesting to watch the online discussions over the past 6 months, as people who mostly did not GAF about much besides their own personal lives began to think and argue and research professional areas of thought in constitutional law and medicine.

I’m actually looking forward to the same in historical areas. Here on FR, constitutional law and history back to the Greeks and Romans has always had a constituency. All aspects of medicine came to the fore during the 1st 3 months of the lockdown. I’m thinking American history is now going to become ubiquitous. I find this amusing, since, of all history classes, many professors went out of their way, even 50 years ago, to make American history dull and boring. I know I dreaded it back in the day, while European history seemed much more vibrant and engaging.

Now, I have come to believe that every bad political and social idea in the world originated somewhere in Europe, led to war and eventually to totalitarianism or authoritarianism. American history suddenly seems vibrant, in comparison.

Will we witness a resurgence of critical thinking? One can only hope.

TL;DR: every cloud has a silver lining.

>The Marines and Army support our side.

Well American history says otherwise.

From the "Whiskey Rebellion" where President Washington sent the Army to force farmers to stop making whiskey from their own crops to the "Bonus Army" where President Hoover had MacArthur and Patton lead troops with teargas, bayonets, and tanks to clear our WWI veterans who were camping out in DC as pat of their protests, to New Orleans during Katrina where National Guardsmen confiscated lawfully possessed firearms by force, the military has primarily obeyed the government against the American public , even when carrying out questionable or unconstitutional orders ...

Finally a poll I think is believable.

You think 62% view BLM positively?

“According to a new survey from Rasmussen Reports, more than one-third of likely voters in America believe that a second civil war is likely within in the next five years”

No known connection, but Smith & Wesson shares were up 10.99 percent today; Sturm Ruger up 4.42 percent.

Just like when the Bolsheviks took over Russia and murdered the czar.
Just like when the 1/3 of Americans who supported separation went to war against the most power military in the world.
Just like when the Taliban beat the Russians AND the US.
Just like the French Commune.
Just like when an unknown aspiring painter in Vienna started rabble rousing in the streets and rallying unhappy Germans about injustices.

Do not underestimate poorly trained underdogs. They have the power of the whole global communist apparatus behind them.

I wonder what people that have actually been through civil wars or even sustained civil unrest think about what is going on. Does it measure up? I have my doubts.

Our poorest people are the most likely to be obese and are the most entertained poor people ever. They are generally unused to hard physical labor, much less spending a lot of time outdoors in non-climate controlled conditions. Hard for me to imagine civil war sparking off with these conditions.

...if you never thought the country was all that great ...why did you stay?
___________________________________________
They’ve been comfortable until the past 4 months. Comfortable and complacent. We’re seeing some people becoming less of both.

An observant, highly educated, affluent person from a SW Chicago suburb today mentioned how many people she’s noticed who are fishing every day. At first, she thought it was lockdown leisure, but then she realized it was the same people, with old cars and in regular clothes, without expensive fishing gear. She wondered if people are fishing for subsistence. I could tell she was correlating this to the economic dislocation due to lockdown.

The conversation wandered into observations that it’s become difficult to plan ahead more than a week or so because everyone is wondering what comes next.

I read “1984” around 1968 in high school. It was a warning against totalitarianism.

If anybody reads it today, it’s being used as instruction manual.

I don’t know your aged, but I believe most people who behave like you wrote and are curious about history are getting up in years and will be gone soon.

When the communists realized the revolution of the proletariat would never happen in the United States, they retrenched on focused on taking over the institutions. They succeeded at that beyond their dreams. We’ve had one to two generations taught nothing but America is the root of all evil in the entire world and white people built America.

It’ll probably come down to the split we had around 1770 - 1/3 want violent revolution; 1/3 want the status quo maintained; and 1/3 don’t care.
