RE: The fact that he was shot twice in the back isn’t going to help here.

Why didn’t they just let Rayshard Brooks go after he fled? After all, they have all his details on file. They can arrest him later.

These cops are too trigger happy.

Agreed. They already had everything to just stop by the next morning and arrest him.

The death of Rayshard Brooks is a tragedy

Why is it a tragedy?

You are encouraging all criminals to fight with the police and flee.

Won’t work.

I'm not sure it's clear how much time there was between Brooks turning and aiming the taser at the officer, and the shots being fired. They could have been almost simultaneous. And the angle at which Brooks was when aiming the taser at the officer would indicate shots being fired into his back.

Looking back from a comfortable position of hindsight, it's easy to say that the taser was not a threatening weapon, and it was unlikely to actually hit the target.

But the officer's thought process was probably not any more complicated than," He's aiming a weapon at me, I'm firing my gun." So, less than a second after Brooks pointed the taser, the officer fired.

After watching the video IMO the reason he was shot in the back was because at the time he was half turned back discharging the taser.

It is hard to rationalize shooting this fleeing subject in the back.

Open your damn eyes. Brooks resisted arrested, took one of their tasers and shot the taser at one of them.

That kind of behavior can't just be let go if you want to have any law and order.
