RE: The fact that he was shot twice in the back isnt going to help here.
Why didn’t they just let Rayshard Brooks go after he fled? After all, they have all his details on file. They can arrest him later.
These cops are too trigger happy.
Agreed. They already had everything to just stop by the next morning and arrest him.
Why is it a tragedy?
gee...then all every body has to do is just run...and then, the next day, when police all over the city are tacking down their previous days “arrests”...the everybody can again just RUN!!!....its the “new law enforcement”....you people have lost your minds...
“Why didnt they just let Rayshard Brooks go after he fled? After all, they have all his details on file. They can arrest him later.”
You are encouraging all criminals to fight with the police and flee.
Won’t work.
Looking back from a comfortable position of hindsight, it's easy to say that the taser was not a threatening weapon, and it was unlikely to actually hit the target.
But the officer's thought process was probably not any more complicated than," He's aiming a weapon at me, I'm firing my gun." So, less than a second after Brooks pointed the taser, the officer fired.
After watching the video IMO the reason he was shot in the back was because at the time he was half turned back discharging the taser.
Open your damn eyes. Brooks resisted arrested, took one of their tasers and shot the taser at one of them.
That kind of behavior can't just be let go if you want to have any law and order.
