Thanks, didn’t know that, and now especially wouldn’t expect a pursuing cop seeing a drawn weapon to take time to think that over.
Here is what an idiot said the cops should have done.
“”””Cedric Alexander, the former police chief of DeKalb County, east of Atlanta, said the Friday night encounter outside a Wendys restaurant should never have escalated into a use-of-force situation.
Alexander suggested the officers who found Brooks, 27, asleep in his car in the restaurants drive-through could have called him an Uber or given him a ride home instead of taking him into custody.”””””””””””
Really??? Passed out drunk at a drive thru and the cops are supposed to give you a free ride home?
Here we go again. A police dept run my a dem chief , mayor and DA. There will be no justice, only a setup. The only way for the defendant to get a free trial is move the trial to another venue.
Glad everyone here takes the side of the criminal and lynches the cops no matter what. Makes everything so easy.
Why do we even have police when no matter what they do is going to get them lynched?
You’re so right. I invite anyone to read the autopsy. The number and level of drugs in his system is amazing. Coupled with his recent bout of COVID19, his 75% (plus) blocked coronary arteries and sickle cell trait, a defense lawyer will make mincemeat out of the prosecution. You don’t even have to be a doctor to see the reasonable doubt in that autopsy report. Maybe the cops’ only failing was not giving him a shot of narcan.
Mr. Ellison knows he has overcharged with the murder 2 charge. If he can get a jury to convict on murder 2 then he has a fine feather in his cap. If the jury finds him not guilty of murder 2 but guilty of a lesser charge the Ellison still gets street cred but no riots (probably). If the jury finds him not guilty of any charges then Ellison gets the riots he wants so as to damage the orange man. It is important that the verdict be given as near as possible to the election so as to have the maximum impact.
“Agreed. They already had everything to just stop by the next morning and arrest him.”
In the meantime someone under the influence who attacks the police is on the loose with a police weapon and who knows what else.
What will they say if he kills an innocent person with that weapon while the police themselves go home and sleep?
Looking back from a comfortable position of hindsight, it's easy to say that the taser was not a threatening weapon, and it was unlikely to actually hit the target.
But the officer's thought process was probably not any more complicated than," He's aiming a weapon at me, I'm firing my gun." So, less than a second after Brooks pointed the taser, the officer fired.
“””Why didnt they just let Rayshard Brooks go after he fled? After all, they have all his details on file. They can arrest him later.
And if Brooks was out on parole a DUI would most likely a violation of his probation and he would be put back into the ‘big house’. hence, that was Brooks’ motivation to escape.
If had run away and the cops picked him up the next day, there would have been no proof that he was indeed intoxicated.
Still trying to confirm that Brooks was indeed the same Rayshard Brooks who was paroled Jan 29 2020.
This person can write alot of words about an event, but those words might not match up with the autopsy reports.
Too bad that there isn’t video preceding the video we all have seen.
The cop knew ABSOLUTELY that Brooks had a tazer...you can even see the flash in one of the videos as he shot it at the officer...Cop fired and Brooks turned in the same instant...and got shot in the back. That’s just how fast things happen.
Facts do not matter to leftists. Only thing that matters is using the mob’s feelings to help their revolution.
RE: Too bad that there isnt video preceding the video we all have seen.
SEE THE ENTIRE OVER AN HOUR VIDEO FROM THE POLICE BODYCAM HERE:
There can be no other video as nobody bothered to take the video of Rayshard Brooks sleeping in his car at the Wendy’s drive thru blocking the cars behind him. The conversation he had with the cops however establishes the events prior to the event.
“We ain’t seen nothing yet if there’s an innocent verdict...... “
There may be rioting if there is a guilty verdict too.
Not everyone has looted everything they want to loot. Yet.
The fact that perp shot first at the cop isn't going to hurt the cop's case either
When I was a young dude so many years ago I can hardly remember, I was a furious drag racer always racing on the streets & highways of NYC,mainly because NYC did not have a certified Drag Racing Quarter Mile track.
As such, I was always being pulled over by the local police, because my car was noisy, loud and fast. My pull overs were for various traffic violations, wreckless drivng (drag racing), etc.
I never once tried to outrun a police car. When their lights went on and they chased me, I pulled off the road as soon as possible and waiting for them to come and tell what I did wrong. I was never drunk or on drugs, but, I was a powerful, aggressive driver, that loved winning drag races.
My Dad, God bless his soul...always told me to always obey the cops and do not try to run away from them. That is exactly what I did...every time. Once the cops saw that I was not drunk or drugged and I had control of my wits, they usually chew my teenage butt out, and then let me go with a warning.
If violators of the law would just surrender when apprehended for committing a crime, few would ever get killed...period. I believe that...100%!!!
a new news article came out that he was going to drive his DAUGHTER to a birthday party
goodness...
drunk, passed out, and with kids in the car at the next stop
yeah, lets arrest him TOMORROW...
After watching the video IMO the reason he was shot in the back was because at the time he was half turned back discharging the taser.
Got to disagree. he sure as hell was a threat. He pointed a weapon at the cop first. If you let him go, in his condition with a weapon he was willing to point at a police officer, he could have done the same to innocent civilians. He wasn't down an in custody. The officer did nothing wrong here. In fact, he shouldn't have even been fired
