Certainly President Trump understands the importance of and to make the most of prime time television. Recent events have provided another opportunity for him to address the nation during prime time.
In order to get the media to provide coverage and provide it from start to finish, the even will need to be a subject they can not resist to cover.
The subject can be an announcement on the use of the military and national guard during the current rioting. The potential for points against Trump will be too much for them not to cover.
But instead of allowing them to score points president Trump should go on offensive driving three major points across to the American public.
First as the prime time event starts you will see President trump and three pastors. President Trump will be kneeling on both knees. You will have a priest a rabbi and a pastor. One of which should be African American. They will all have hands on the President praying over him silently.
The President will then stand up and recite the pledge of allegiance before the American flag.
He will then follow with a short address containing three points to cover. Keeping the press from breaking away coverage is important so the speech must be short and concise.
The first point will be for every event an American flag is raised or honored a short period of prayer and reflection be given asking God for reconciliation and a deeper understanding of what divides our country before the flag is displayed.
The second point will be about funds (in the billions) that will be allocated toward training for police departments throughout the United States on procedures for handling situations such as George Floyd.
The third and final would be notification to the American people of the President’s plan to federalize the national guard if a peaceful solution to domestic terrorist activity can not be found.
The non violent protesters are going on pure emotion and are moved by acts that move these emotions. One of President Trumps line during the campaign was what do you have to lose. At this time many of these people are angry and do not trust any institution since they can not identify why they feel the way the do. Acts of violence by police are only justification for these feelings for them. This is a historic opportunity to shift loyalties if done correctly.

American citizens have 2nd amendment rights regardless of their race, religion or ethnicity.

What he’s got to do is end any pretext for the “shutdown” In any state. One of the reasons the police are getting so little respect and support even from people who are probably not basically hostile is that they have been used by the governors and mayors not to fight crime, but to enforce harsh and probably unconstitutional shut-down orders on the population.
I think there’s a lot of fear and resentment as a result. Some sheriffs did refuse to enforce these orders, but the scenes we have witnessed of the police pursuing swimmers and people at playgrounds, shutting little businesses, etc. have not gained them any support.
Bring the country back to normal, tell everybody to pull up their socks and get back to work or to school, and sue the governors or mayors for civil rights violations.
The left is taking advantage of the instability and anger resulting from the three months of ...or even ongoing ...Suspension of normal life and rights.
Eh. I would rather see Trump do a Nixonian law and order/silent majority speech. Promise to restore stability. Reinforce the idea that cops are asked to do a tough job, but they are absolutely essential to civil order. Point out the ruin that lies at then end of the path of anarchy. The Donald needs to rally not only his base but those who support is weakening.

Finally. If we just let it burn let enough people will begin to take care of themselves and each other. I am glad to hear it and understand a militarized, unionized police force is just a posse commitatus work around. Swat teams and apcs have no place on the streets of a Constitutional America.
I may be wrong, but I think SWAT teams were formed in the late 60s to respond to terrorist and radical insurgencies like now. The Sybionese Liberation Army and Weathermen come to mind. Police depts were way outgunned.

Without authorized police presence, uncontrolled community militias will spring up, the people will then fall back to the natural order of tribalism with many conflicts between them and eventually a strong Hitler-type leader will bring most of them together and eliminate the weak.
