Scott Adams has had a brilliant insight about the demand for reparations
American Thinker ^ | Andrea Widburg

Posted on 06/13/2020 5:32:27 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Whenever Democrats push race to the forefront of the news, reparations pop up. The theory is that, because their forebearers were kidnapped from Africa and enslaved in America, blacks will never catch up economically to whites. It doesn’t matter that there are no slaves or slaveowners today; that most whites are not descended from slaveowners; or that racism impoverished, rather than enriched the South.

Scott Adams’ brilliant insight cuts through all this: The comparison isn’t between black wealth and white wealth in America. Instead, the comparison must be the difference between black’s average net worth in America versus black’s average net worth in Africa. After all, the act of stealing blacks from Africa is the “but for cause” of all wrongs done to blacks.

Adams imagines a neutral space alien calculating reparations. He informs earthlings that black versus white net worth in America isn’t the correct calculation:

“If I’m going to calculate the, let’s say, the theft from the black community, if you were to measure the theft -- let’s say just theft – that this slavery was. In other words, you stole the productive part of their lives, etc., and you used it for yourself. So here’s the number I need: I need how does the average economic situation for the average black person in this country and then, to compare it, I want to compare it to the average life of a black African.:

And you say, “What?”

The next argument from blm will be reparations for Africa for the same reasons cited.

He’s right. We do need to take into account their differing standard of living in America and what they would have had in Africa.

I have been thinking, and sometimes saying, the same thing.

The slaves that made it to the colonies which became the United States, were the lucky ones.

Most of the African slaves went to Brazil, the Caribbean, or north to Muslim masters. Nearly all of those died without progeny.

The American colonies were one of the few places where slaves were treated well enough to have children that survived.

Most of those who were not made slaves, in the African inter-tribal raids for slaves, were killed.

For that, they’ll have to look Eastward, whence came the swarms of Mo ham head’s loonie slave traders, rapists, looters, and mass murderers.

I heard a brief snippet from a caller to Rush's show Friday (don't know who was filling in for Rush) wherein the caller, a nice woman, said that though she was now an American, she had spent 30+- years in Uganda.

She said that many, if not most, of her friends and family in Uganda wished their ancestors had suffered the misfortune of having been abducted as slaves so that they could now be living in the U.S.

Yep. In their eyes reparations should be punitive.

At this point, I’m ready to sponsor 1 family on the old 40 acres and a mule plan if they’ll just STFU.

The greatest benefit, if I may paraphrase Pat Buchanan, is that the blacks brought to the U.S. acquired Christian Salvation. That in itself is of infinite, incalculable, eternal value. It doesn’t justify slavery. But it was and is a fringe benefit of great value.

How about reparations from BLM for all the damage they caused during the riots.

You’ll appreciate this article.

The author recounts being in Africa during the Rwanda atrocity.

He recounted his family history and said “and so I thank God one of my ancestors made that journey” (in a slave ship.)

....their forebearers were kidnapped from Africa and enslaved in Ame....

I stopped reading right here. This furthers the myth that “whitey” did the kidnapping. Nothing could be further from the truth. It was the black Afrikan who kidnapped, bound and sold their kinsmen into slavery. They are still doing this to this day. Until the real culprits of slavery is admitted to then I am and will never be for reparations. Yes Africans are still being bound and sold into slavery today. If no American black person has lifted a finger to prevent this, then their silence is complicity as much as they say silence here is complicity into the subject here. Alas, they don’t care and it will always be abut “me, me, me” and how much money they can get.

I have modified Kipling's poem, for a parody which reflects the situation the progressives have placed us in:

Paying Progressive Dane-Geld

It is always a temptation to an entitled population
To call upon a neighbour and to say: —
“We rioted last night—we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away.”

And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you’ve only to pay ‘em the Dane-geld
And then you’ll get rid of the Dane!

It is always a temptation,  with Orwellian dictation,
To puff and look important and to say: —
“You are oppressed. White men caused this mess.
We will pay you public cash to go away.”

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

It is wrong to put temptation to a youthful population,
For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say: —

“We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that pays it is lost!”

We have been paying Dane-Geld to progressive ideologists and cultural Marxists  for more than 50 years. The cost has been in the trillions. The damage done to our society, moral and Constitutional norms, is incalculable.  It must be stopped, before our nation is lost. We came very close to losing the nation.

It’s all about inequality. The American Black people’s ancestors were basically not equal to those who defeated them in battle. Inequality resulted in defeat and capture.

It appears that the Poverty Programs of The Great Sociey have given massive amounts of money to black Americans. Reparations have been happening since 1965.

Let us simplify it even further.

Let us consider ALL the burning and looting and destruction...reparations. All accounts are even. Case closed.
