Columbus, Ohio Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton resigned suddenly today, citing inability to cope with the overload of work the job required. Acton will reportedly stay on as Gov. Mike DeWines Chief Health Advisor.
This came a week after Operation Rescue called for her resignation after publishing an exposé that included information on her Ohio medical license application that indicated she had been treated for mental illness and/or addiction issues at some point in the past.
That exposé also included audio clips from Operation Rescues interview with Donna Arthur, Actons estranged mother.
Arthur claimed that her daughter falsely accused her second husband of raping her when she was 12 years old. Acton had publicly claimed that both Arthur and her husband were criminally charged with abusing her, but skipped town before they could be prosecuted. However, Operation Rescue verified that Arthur had never been charged and that her step father had charges dismissed. Acton then went to live with her father after he had made the allegations and never saw her mother again.
Arthur also refuted the allegation as untrue that Acton was homeless, neglected, and hungry as a child something that Acton has repeatedly claimed. Arthur revealed that she divorced Actons father because she had been physically abused by him.
We are just glad she decided to step down. There was reason for us to believe that she would serve as an advocate for the abortion clinics, which were allowed to stay open at a time when Actons coronavirus orders were closing legitimate businesses and creating hardships on the people of Ohio, said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. She was not the right person to lead the ODH, and not the right person to conduct unbiased oversight of Ohios abortion facilities.
Operation Rescue earlier uncovered Actons secret move to prevent Womens Med Center in Dayton from closing due to a court order after the ODH spent four long years in litigation with the late-term abortion facility over a licensing dispute. Instead of allowing the clinic to halt abortions, she had the clinic slightly alter its name and reapply for a facility license, which she promptly approved to keep it operating.
Information about Actons active affiliation with Barack Obamas 2008 political campaign was also published by Operation Rescue, which led to questions about why the supposedly pro-life DeWine would put a pro-abortion Democrat in an oversight position over abortion facilities.
With Actons departure from the ODH, Lance Himes will assume the job as ODH director, a position he has previously held.
Ohio: our state health director is crazy.
Pennsylvania: hold my beer.
Wait wait...I’m not done posting..
She resigned because the people of Ohio are suing her for destroying their lives.
No kidding. Hey, Operation Rescue, you got a dossier on Rachel Levine?
I just posted something else, maybe that is it?
She sounds like quite the loon, but I for one do not know the truth.
Acton was born Amy Stearns and raised on the north side of Youngstown, Ohio, living “in 18 different places in a 12-year period, including in a tent when she was homeless.” She described in a 2020 interview with Youngstown’s WKBN having random neighbors give her and her brother breakfast “because they knew we were hungry” and also “people looking the other way, not wanting their kids to play with me because we were dirty and smelly.” She described in a 2019 interview being neglected and abused while she lived with her mother following her parents’ divorce. By 7th grade she was living with her father in a more stable environment, and at Liberty High School was a member of the National Honor Society and Homecoming queen.
Oh lookie a Republican Governor appointing and taking advice from a lying far left Democrap aborting his agenda. I am glad President Trump would never do anything like that. Oh wait ... my bad.
Republicans are absolute dipshits when it comes to appointments. Must be some political hereditary disease.
TonyRo76 according to this:
Which is in serious need of updating!
“Could not find anybody named ‘cbk’”
Dewine certainly is a dipshit, full of weasel words.
Operation Rescue is the Pro Life arm of CBN.
Clearly this is payback for Acton allowing abortion clinics to continue operating while bringing the iron boot down on everyone else.
Pat Robertson has learned to play Saul Alinsky.
This story is fascinating at so many levels.
And yes, it’s impossible to believe that Mike DeWine knew nothing about this. He needs to go next.
The Senile Old Fool DeWine let Acton run the State - DeWine just stood at his news conferences listening to Acton gives orders.
Two more years of DeWine as Governor is too much.
About the best thing that could be said about our governor is that he ran against someone even worse.
When it comes to loon as health director, Pennsylvania has everyone beat !
Dr. Rachel - ‘used to be Richard’ Levine!
I understand its original medical specialty was child psychiatry. No wonder it became a medical bureaucrat!
USA Today has this,
19 hours ago · COLUMBUS, Ohio Turning down pleas from Gov. Mike DeWine to stay on the job, Dr. Amy Acton surprisingly resigned Thursday as director of the Ohio Department of Health amid the coronavirus pandemic.”
Levin was ‘appointed’ by Gov.wolf as Health Director. ......if you vote Demorat for any office be assured they’ll appoint as many LGBT etc. nutcases they can.
Yes they will!
