What Trump wants and what the economy will provide are not necessarily the same thing.
But you have hit the salient point. If you look at all the polls on who will do better, Biden is trouncing Trump in most of them. Economy, health care, race, foreign affairs, who cares about people like me, Biden beats Trump every time. Except for who would do better with the economy? There Trump is consistently ahead.
As Carville said, "It's the economy stupid." The economy is always the most important factor in elections. If conditions continue to improve. If unemployment drops and the economy grows, then anyone voting on their employment and their future will vote for Trump. If things get worse then Trump has a his work cut out for him.
