The Dukes of Hazzard has been flagged for internal review at Amazon. The hit 1980s sitcom could end up getting the boot for problematic imagery. The series aired on CBS for 7 seasons and was a success for most of that time, thanks to the adventures of Bo and Luke Duke, along with their cousin Daisy Duke. Concerns over the show's use of the Confederate flag on the iconic vehicle, nicknamed the General Lee, have come up more than once over the past few years, but it looks like now may be the time the boys get cancelled.
Amazon is currently discussing whether or not to remove The Dukes of Hazzard from their streaming service amid the Black Lives Matter protests currently going on around the world. The Confederate flag is a symbol of racism and oppression and has slowly been phased out of public places all over the United States in recent years. NASCAR just made the decision to stop waving the flag at all of their races, which has received mixed reactions over the past few days.
The Dukes of Hazzard currently streams on Amazon Prime Video's sister streamer IMDb TV. No decision has been made at this time, but sources say that the show's fate is being discussed internally. Back in 2015, Warner Bros. TV announced it would "stop licensing images of the car to toy-makers and other merchandisers following the mass murder of nine people in a South Carolina church by a white supremacist who proudly posed for pictures with the flag." However, just a few years later, the show ended up back on streaming services where it has been ever since.
The Dukes of Hazzard news comes as protests across the world continue and tensions are high.

I thought all copies of The Dukes of Hazzard were destroyed in 2015 during the backlash against the Confederate Flag.
That is why I will never use electronic books.

If they want to cancel shows and movies and culture that demean blacks, they should look at rap and black entertainment in general. Horrible role models. The KKK could not have dreamed up more derogatory depictions of blacks than what blacks show of themselves.
My tv is now only for video games and movies. I don’t care what tv-land does.
It’s ironic that shows created to poke fun at a bunch of dumb hayseed, redneck, hillbilly grits which are STILL making boatloads of money for the corporate suits might get censored because they’re too “southern” and have props that trigger...
Every show or movie that ever had at least one white person appear in it should be purged from the face of the earth .

This morning my local news had a story about removing Confederate statues. The pro side was the head of the local NAACP. The con side was a leader of the Sons of Confederate Veterans who spoke anonymously. Anonymously. That’s what we’ve become.
To be replaced with the new Nikki Haley show.
Song of the South, then GWTW, now this? Do we have to take down everything “Southern”? Just let ‘em try banning “fried chicken” next...
Consider me offended as a moderate fan. Got season set dvds 1-5 plus have a dvd and an James Best autographed poster for “Return of the Killer Shrews”.
Was shocked to find out via the internet that it was inspired by the movie “Moonrunners” which was supposedly based on real life exploits. The car was named “Traveler” which makes more sense (being General Lee’s horse).
All of “Gone With the Wind” are out. If I could figure out where they would strike next I would buy hard copies of other movies for sure.
