2 incoming freshmen not allowed to attend NC State in the fall due to racist social media posts

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A string of racist social media posts courtesy of two incoming freshmen was brought to the attention of school officials at N.C. State University. Those two students will not be allowed to attend the university in the fall.

Outrage on social media from university alumni and current students alike at the initial reluctance of the university to do anything about it helped bring the since-deleted social media posts to light.

Screenshots of the posts were leaked by many on social media which came on the heels of nationwide protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

“We are appalled and disheartened that any member of the NC State community would choose to make such abhorrent statements. To say the words and actions in those posts stand in complete opposition to NC State’s values is an understatement,” the university said in a statement.

In the coming academic year, the university says it will require every student, faculty and staff member to complete diversity and inclusion learning modules.

Other instances of hate speech and racist social media posts continue to be investigated by university officials.

“The Wolfpack community deserves a campus environment where they feel safe, supported, respected and valued. The university vehemently condemns racism and all other forms of discrimination. We are dedicated to doing all we can to protect, promote and advance a culture of diversity, equity and inclusive excellence at NC State,” the university’s statement read.

The university has not made it clear whether the students will be allowed to attend school after the fall semester.

So much for diversity and tolerance. I would think that an institution of higher learning would relish the chance to open the minds of those poor closed minded souls.

Well, I guess I’m in trouble then. Yesterday I posted on Twitter to a driver that I’ve decided to discontinue being a fan of the sport after nearly half a century of following it.

The SJW crowd instantly glommed on and started calling me a racist without bothering to find out my reason. The final straw was when NASCAR announced they would allow disrespect of the flag during opening ceremonies.

One driver ran a BLM car this week. I don’t care, that’s a team decision. As an American of African descent, he could have used his influence as the only black star in an entire sport to say this his skin color doesn’t matter but his character and talent do.

On the flip side, while I got a couple hundred comments, I got 400-500 likes from people who understand the frustration.

being prejudiced shows that you have either been taught to be that way by your family and\or peers, OR it shows that you have had repeated experiences with those you are prejudiced against and have what you believe is reason to be prejudiced.

Stupid has nothing to do with it. Stupid is the inability to learn. In either of the scenarios above, the person LEARNED to be prejudiced.

And by the way, “ignorant “jokes”” are usually funny because they are forbidden. Making racist jokes doesn’t mean you are racist. It means you are insensitive to other’s feelings and that in itself is what all the crying is about these days. “You hurt my feelings so I’m going to burn down your house.”

My mom also sang this one:

Oh the only girl I had
Had a face like a horse and buggy
Leaning up against
The middle of the fence
Fireman save my child!
But the child was bigger than the fireman
Yes, the child was bigger than the fireman
Be careful with that monkey wrench
My father was a nut nut nut nut
Peeking through the knothole in Grandpa’s wooden leg
Who’ll wind the clock while I am gone
Got the rheumatism
Go get the ax
There’s a fly on baby’s chest
A boy’s best friend is his mother
No other
Oh there’s some of us that ain’t et yet!

It’s a college. They probably just dodged a bullet.

Being prejudiced shows the students are stupid. Period. Not college material. I can’t abide those superior types and their ignorant “jokes.”

College students say all kinds of stupid things. But its ok to say stupid things if they are left of center stupid things.
Students are allowed to wear a Che T shirt for example.
Che was a mass murdering thug. Why is that ok?

I am 100% with you on the Che shirts. Che was a sociopath. Mass murderer. Loved killing people. May he rot in hell.

Hah I do the same. Mainly because I don’t want my business clients to ‘find’ me. But I don’t do politics, etc. on social media anyway so there’s that. I just want my personal stuff kept personal...away from my clients eyes. I have one that keeps leaving me voicemails that doesn’t know I’ve been on vacation...in Vegas. lol

This is what it has come to...
...the ‘peaceful protesters’ can call us every name in the book......destroy our stores.....loot.....and beat old people

Anarchists can terrorize downtown Seattle and make their own city while throwing police out iof their precinct

Statues are beheaded, torn down and set afire

I don’t know what these two students said.....
...but do words harm more than looting, beating and terrorizing?

Their words reflect who they are or aren’t....
...but we still have First Amendment rights, don’t we?

That might be the theme song of the Democrats attempting to leverage the Antifa and BLM movements as shock troops for the new “order” they want to foster in America.

Yes, they used a racist slur.

It was the same forbidden word that blacks use all the time without repercussions, and the same forbidden word that a democrat senator and former KKK member used on a cable news program without repercussions.

I suspect that a lot of people, on both sides of the aisle, said a lot of things in high school that wouldn’t go over very well if their colleges knew about it. Thankfully we didn’t have Facebook/Twitter then.

Censorship and abridgement of 1st amendment rights of a citizen by the state.

I do not agree with racist comments but I do support the rights of a citizen to make those comments - in private or in public.

The student said he sent it as a Snapchat a couple of years ago. He said it was an immature way of saying hey to a friend and regrets it now.

But, he sent it via Snapchat and someone saved it somehow.
