“Antifa was founded during Germany’s Weimar Republic as the paramilitary arm of the German Communist Party (KPD), which the Soviet Union funded. In other words, Antifa became the German Communists’ version of the Nazis’ brown-shirted SA.”

But yet there are idiots on this forum who equate Antifa with with the SA! ANTIFA WERE/ARE COMMUNISTS!

Essentially. I don't recall the circumstances, but the Weimar's had banned the KPD militia, thus the formation of Antifa. You'll note at their 1932 convention, their flag was flanked by Soviet banners. Kind of hard to deny the connection if you're using the imagery.

Probably somewhat valid in terms of their actions, you could compare them with any terror group in terms of actions. But Antifa and the KPD militia against them would have been enemies of the Sturmabteilung, aka brownshirts.
