In the early 60's black leadership moved from highly responsible (but slow moving) Uncle Tom's (the early MLK style) to SNCC/Panther thug self-appointed white-supported 'community leaders'.

That's the point where the alienation from the real black community started.

Even today 'black leaders' have much more in common with white Marxist 'intellectuals' than they do with people who actually live in the black community. It's why men like Biden are walking back the 'defund police'...an idea Marxist love - and the real black community hates.

I knew a guy from a previous life (Black) who grew up in the Hell's Kitchen area of New York, late 1950s/early 1960s.

He said the 'hood back then was the most dangerous part of the city, but even they had standards. Bootlegging, untaxed smokes, prostitution, petty theft and the like were all tolerated.

But no drug dealing. Even the mob wouldn't get into that because they understood what it would do to the youth of the community. But it was highly profitable and, every now and then, some jack@$$ had to try. When they did, it was only a matter of time before they would be found hanging from a lamppost early some morning.

Then the white liberals took control of every major elective office in the city and the rest, as they say, was history.
