Congressional Democrats' attempts to look woke appeared to backfire on them Monday when a series of black Twitter users accused them of cultural appropriation.

Author Obianuju Ekeocha posted a video telling Democrats to stop "virtue signalling" by wearing African cloth in the Capitol.

"Excuse me, dear Democrats," she said. "In your tokenism, you didn't wait to find out that this thing that you're hanging around your neck is not just some African uniform -- it's actually the kente material. The kente belongs to the Ghanaian people, mainly the Ashanti tribe.

Some blacks were beginning to resent the condescending and controlling attitude of white liberal politicians in the wake of Biden's "If you are even thinking of voting for Trump, you ain't black" comment. Unfortunately, the death of George Floyd and the ensuing rioting took the attention away from that just as blacks were beginning to reflect on it and comment on it.

But now, in their incurable tendency to pander and virtue-signal, the Dems have once again focused attention on that issue. The Dems DO treat blacks like stupid children, like their personal property. Even Leo Terrell's eyes are being opened a bit.
