Relax, I am not offended by VermontLt statement.
Lots of Americans are still just stuck in a deep normalcy bias, distanced from the happenings.
Heck I am a few miles outside of Cleveland ...where the city was literally closed nearly all week with checkpoints and anyone who never travels into the city doesn’t grasp it. I had friends downtown that had to flee their apartment in fear as storefronts were shattered beneath their apartment. They were terrified of arson. They spent the week here with me.
Now there are protests coming this weekend to local suburbs and the virtue signalers are out in force on social media. If you say you are concerned, scared, worried...you are called racist. I have people freaking out at the sounds of fireworks. Fireworks are going to be used to disguise the sound of gunfire. And the virtue signalers are calling us racist when someone posts they heard gunfire.
VermontLt is just stuck in normalcy bias...he/she hasn’t yet realized CVII is on.
Hardly.
I live five miles from one of the top 20 most dangerous cities in the country. I have multiple relatives in law enforcement.
EVERY city in the country has been shut down. Cleveland is no different than anyone else.
You guys are reacting to dog whistles. One person calls for defundingto police, and the reaction is so extreme the rest of the idiots keep saying it...and you guys keep reacting.
You are scared of Antifa. I dont dispute its a real thing, but there hadnt been a single Antifa related arrest where they are charged with aiding terrorists. Not one.
Doesnt that make you wonder?
I am well grounded, well protected. You guys are feeding your fears and way, way over reacting. It is a negative feedback loop and you are right in the middle of it.
This is a big country. These protesters are big, in a small part of the world. You are giving them more power than they deserve. You fear is palatable. And its kind of sad.
