Dwayne The Rock Johnson seemingly took a swipe at Donald Trump in an impassioned video commenting on the ongoing protests in the U.S. sparked by the death of George Floyd.
The 48-year-old movie star joined the myriad of actors either protesting or speaking out in support of the black community in the United States after Floyds death sparked a national conversation about police brutality that turned violent in some parts of the country. President Trump has since responded with calls to renew law and order by instructing state governments to deploy more police.
Johnson took to Instagram on Wednesday where he shared a roughly 8-and-a-half-minute video in which he delivered an emotional speech calling on the president to step up and lead with compassion, although he did not mention Trump by name.
Where are you? Where is our leader at this time? At this time when our country is down on its knees begging, pleading, hurt, angry, frustrated, in pain, begging and pleading with its arms out just wanting to be heard, he says. Where are you? Where is our compassionate leader who is going to step up to our country who is down on its knees and extend a hand and say You stand up. Stand up with me. Stand up with me, because Ive got you. Ive got you. Ive got you, I hear you, Im listening to you and you have my word that Im going to do everything in my power, till my dying day, to my last breath to do everything I can to create the change thats needed, to normalize equality because black lives matter.
The star went on to encourage people to stop saying all lives matter and start to understand the rallying cry black lives matter.

Shut up and.....well he can’t really act, can he?
The Rock / LeBron 2024: the Idiocracy Ticket.
I actually used to like him. I am done with them all.
President Trump created the lowest unemployment for Black Americans ever - and now you want to go back. Youre on your own ...
Where are the mayors and governors of the riot torn areas whose responsibility it is to maintain law and order? Where are they?
right now on Fox, it’s all about Left and Right criticise Trump over church visit. Shannon Bream hosting.
RE: Where are you? Where is our leader at this time? At this time when our country is down on its knees begging, pleading, hurt, angry, frustrated, in pain, begging and pleading with its arms out just wanting to be heard, he says.
OK, Dwayne, Trump appeared on TV and told the governors and mayors to take charge of the chaos in their cities or he will have no choice but to use the military to quell the riots.
RESULT: Two generals and even a former President attacks him for that.
Trump called the Floyd family to express his condolences and promise them that he will do his best to make sure justice is served. Apparently this isn’t enough.
Trump goes to a historic church that was torched by rioters to show that he is in charge. RESULT: He was peppered with lies about allegedly tear gassing peaceful protesters and doing a photo op.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE IN TRUMP’s SHOES DWAYNE?
Exactly what should he do to show his “compassion” the way you see it?
He’s good at live-cartoon type characters, where everything is exaggerated. Very lucrative, but nothing too deep. Dwayne is ambitious, but he still seems concerned about ‘fitting in’.
Why? Maybe because Dwayne’s late dad, a pro wrestler was black, and his mom is Samoan. Many people from two different cultures struggle with peer pressure their whole lives, always thinking they should do a little bit more to show that they too are ‘down with the struggle’.
Kobe Bryant was black, but his dad was a pro basketballer in Italy. So, by age 13, Kobe was fluent in Italian.
Later on, he always seemed to be a joiner, following the more extroverted players about racial issues.
Kobe too, seemed to feel he had to prove how authentically black he was, having grown up in Italy.
I get the impression when Mr. Trump called the Floyd family and spoke to George’s brother, the president was in a jazzed up, nervous state. The family member says the president was speaking so quickly, that he, the brother, never got a chance to respond to much of anything.
It happens sometimes. The president is only human, but he could tell how big this situation was now becoming.
He is known to talk over people at times.
Obama did all that when the Ferguson riots happened. What did it get? Nothing. Everything is the same as it ever was. These virtue signals do nothing. You want to make a difference, then do real things like reforming qualified immunity like Justice Thomas has been advocating.
You never had his back when things were going good for blacks. I stand with the hispanics you piss on, the orientials you piss on, the indians you piss on and the whites you piss on. All the races you as a racist say not to defenspd all so 13% of the population trys to make the other 87% kneel to them? Can you smell what cooking dumbass? F the Rock!
The democrats allow rioting and looting in their cities and states, and demand that Trump not interfere. Then they blame Trump for not fixing the chaos. How many more setups before the election? They will completely destroy the country before they will allow Trump to win the election.
This is such a stupid question with such obvious answers to where the President has been and what he has been doing, it is hard to compose an answer specifically to this guy (whoever he is).
Rock is going to be the lead in the Black Atom movie. Won’t be seeing his movie.
+1
Note to all entertainers - you're entertainers, that's it. Don't get pulled into this trap of being convinced you have to weigh in on every issue, that you need to set the tone, or be a "thought leader." You're not, trust me. You're basically one step up from court jesters in funny hats with bells.
I'm a reasonably bright guy, well educated. I know a whole lot of very bright people. There are no entertainers in that group. You may live in an echo chamber reality where everyone fawns over you and tells you how special you are, how smart you are, what a social leader you are. Sad truth there egoists: all those people telling you those things? They all want something from you. You're not that special. If I never saw another "celebrity" again I would barely notice. If we're being brutally honest the only people I'd really miss if I couldn't see them again would be my wife and kids. No one paid to recite lines or flex muscles or giggle their "assets" is on my list of people I give a d**n about.
I think “The Rock” got dumped too many times on head during his wrestling career. Ashame. He seemed like a level-headed guy. Perhaps that is the problem - his head got leveled and he lost any real perspective on reality.
Time to sell my wrestling cards?
Black lives sure don’t seem to matter to blacks, do they Dwayne? White lives don’t mean anything to them either. So who exactly are the callous ones?
This over exposed muscular buffoon does not deserve a second of anyone’s time. He does not have a brain beyond his script. Quit giving him phony adulation.
