Two Republican members of the Texas Legislature are spearheading efforts to pass a comprehensive LGBTQ nondiscrimination bill.
Last week, Republican State Reps. Sarah Davis (Houston) and Todd Hunter (Corpus Christi) announced they plan to join a group of Democrat lawmakers in cosponsoring legislation preventing discrimination in employment, housing, and accommodationsa move that would violate the Texas GOP platform and create a protected class of individuals based on their sexual behavior.
We believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin, and we oppose any criminal or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction, or belief in traditional values, reads plank #256 of the current Texas GOP platform.
Regardless of the fact that the majority of the Texas GOP voted to approve that language in the platform, Davis claims a majority of Republicans support the passage of legislation that would violate religious liberties.
70% of Texans, including majorities in both parties, want to see a statewide nondiscrimination law that includes #LGBTQ people. Lets get it done, said Davis on Facebook.
Davis also refers to an economic study conducted by the Perryman Group, which touts the economic benefits of passing such legislation. Though they have the auspices of a legitimate economic research and analysis firm, a view of its publications reveals that the group is little more than a number massager for liberal policy priorities.
Following the announcement that Davis and Hunter were joining Democrats to push the measure, disgraced former Texas House Speaker Joe Straus called the announcement encouraging.
“no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior”
We were told in the ‘60s that Affirmative Action and non-discrimination laws would affect only those traits that are inherited, and which the individual could do nothing about...like skin color
Oddly, no one seems to be able to find a queer gene
That’s because it would be disgenic...no species would propagate with such a suicide gene, unless hermaphroditic
And since I haven’t noticed anyone splitting in two lately, pretty sure we don’t have any Homo Hermaphroditus species members walking among us
Poofters NEED to be discriminated against. Homosexual acts should be illegal, should have always remained illegal everywhere.
With “Republicans” like these; who needs Democrats? The GOP can take us all down to Hell by itself.
This is why I’m registered non-partisan, don’t fund the GOP at any national level, and only give to specific candidates when I contribute to campaigns. All the GOP National-level orgs are shot through with these types of RINOs.
Shakedown comin’ soon!
Lessee now..$1 Trillion? Or 2?
Doesn’t matter, just gibsus dat cash right now!
So’s we can head off to the next rump ranger party...yee haw!
And every other group that can generate substantial donations and block voters.

Sorry believers in traditional sexual morality. Money comes before your religious freedom. There are also economic benefits to a score of activities which religious believers oppose. Maybe start with allowing surrogates to be paid. Then there is human trafficking. And just think of the economic opportunities available if polygamy is made legal.
I don’t recall how the legal case played out, but the facts, roughly, were this. A funeral director was hired as a male and performed his job adequately as a male. One day he decided he would come in dressed as a woman and still perform his job. His employer said no. He took them to court. I don’t recall how it came out, but my guess is they were allowed to fire him.
Depending on how the law is written, then someone could do the same thing and it would be impossible to fire him. Even if the reason they wanted to fire him was for something else, he could claim it was actually because he was dressing as a woman and the legislation would make it difficult or impossible to get rid of him for any reason.
My take on it is this. The loss of a loved one is one of the three most traumatic life events. (Followed by divorce and moving.) A funeral director handles the family’s last business with their loved one. So, suddenly, they are confronted by a guy dressed as a woman. The focus of the event is no longer on them and their grief. It’s on the funeral director and (I know I’m going to take a rasher of sh*t for this) his obvious mental illness.
Frankly, when I am confronted by people with some obvious mental issue, I leave or disengage as quickly as possible. Being forced to deal with a man dressed as a woman I would feel very uncomfortable. Believe me, the business would be transacted as quickly as possible and I would leave. Not the thing to do when you are supposed to stay around and greet people. If I knew about this going in, I would find another provider for the service.
The same would probably happen no matter what the business was. The paying customers would likely go elsewhere. And, there is nothing the employer could do about it except go out of business.
Another mile marker down the road to total degeneracy. The story of Lot in the Bible needs to be heeded. Neither your sons or daughters will be safe from their clutches. And Ultimately, neither will you. The terms “you” and “your” are meant to be all inclusive. Not the singular.
Texas doesn’t have too many “Moderate Republicans” but enough to aid and abet the Democrats, who are demanding a win in TX on November 3.
I’ve heard that some democrats in Texas run for office in more conservative areas as Republicans in order to get elected.
Is this true? It would explain the actions of these two.

Absolutely true! Todd Hunter, one of the two RINOs in the article, was first elected as a Democrat before switching parties but maintained the same ideology. There is a minority of RINOs just like him.
