President Trump lashed out at the New York Times in an early morning tweet on Thursday, calling it a "fake newspaper" after his campaign flagged the publication for altering a headline that some Democratic lawmakers deemed favorable to the president.
"As Chaos Spreads, Trump Vows to 'End It Now,'" the initial Tuesday print edition headline read on a report regarding looting, vandalism, arson and violence in many major cities across the country following the death of African-American George Floyd in Minneapolis after a police officer knelt on his neck for eight minutes.
After some Democratic lawmakers and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's campaign complained about the headline on social media, the headline on the online late edition article was modified to Trump Threatens to Send Troops into States"
Trump, who often refers to the media as "fake news," tweeted out the juxtaposition provided by his campaign on Thursday morning to his more than 81 million followers.
Trump Tweet:
"The Fake Newspaper! After left-wing criticism, the New York Times bowed to the Biden campaign and changed their headline about President Trump's pledge to end chaos plaguing Democrat-run cities!"

Mexico’s richest individual, Carlos Slim, owns 17% of the New York Times, its biggest slice. That is why you never see negative articles on Mexico in the Times. Trump should take to calling it the Mexico City Times, Mexico’s greatest mouthpiece

Trump calls New York Times ‘fake newspaper’ after headline change
The NYT has been a fake news organization since Duranty’s reporting back in the twenties. Read by fools and believed by even more fools.
NYT was a great newspaper when editor Carr Van Anda mobilized his entire news staff to provide most timely coverage of the Titanic disaster.
But the NYT was only one of the dailies covering New York at the time and by no means the largest.
I agree that the NYT has been haunted by Walter Duranty selling out to Stalin and getting a Pulitizer for his lies.
It was tolerable back when Abe Rosenthal was editor but since then it’s been a race to the bottom.
Fake: just like systemic racism and the COVID hype.
This isn’t the first time that the NYet Times has been caught changing a headline because of pressure from Democrats.

President Trump on Wednesday fired off a pair of tweets aimed at the New York Times after the paper changed a widely derided front-page headline on his remarks about two mass shootings. Trump argued that the original wording was the correct description of his speech.
’Trump Urges Unity Vs. Racism,’ was the correct description in the first headline by the Failing New York Times, but it was quickly changed to, Assailing Hate But Not Guns, after the Radical Left Democrats went absolutely CRAZY!” Trump tweeted. Fake News - Thats what were up against...
Trump added, After 3 years, I almost got a good headline from the Times!
More examples of not doing enough to fully repeat the Party talking points and getting called out by the Left

It was a completely different world when the Titanic sank. WWI led to widespread change, disillusionment, and repudiation of nearly all tenets of western civilization. The world has not recovered from that.
Britain and America should have stayed out of WWI.
It’s not a newspaper, just a propaganda machine.
I like the 2nd headline better.
Agreed, absolutely.
Best president after Washington.
