Supposedly, wolverines are pound-for-pound the most ferocious animal on Earth. Anybody know if this is true?

I submit that no one knows if this is true.

But it sounds good.

Yes, it is.

I have seen 3.

Our next door neighbor caught one on his trap line.

He knocked it out with the back side of his axe and brought it home in a 55 gallon drum.

They were worth a lot to sell to zoos.

He left the bungs out of the drum top so it would have air.

The next morning the drum top was found shredded and the wolverine gone.

The other two I saw were at the Granby Zoo, in Quebec, Canada.

Every day or two, they had to add a layer of chain link fence to their cage as they would rip that part.

A wolverine, if hungry enough, will kill a bear.
