Miami Beach is good. Plenty of room for a convention, lots of available accommodations, and relatively easy to keep intruders out, as the location is isolated from the mainland by a couple causeways across a channel, keeping protesters at arms’ length.
And Florida is a more friendly venue.
Florida is. Miami is not Florida and definitely is not friendly.

Way too much of the gay crowd and the monkey jungle is nearby.
Jacksonville is the largest city in the southeast and would be perfect for everyone to travel to.
