The swing voters who will decide the 2020 election oppose by 2:1 the inflow and hiring of more foreign workers amid the coronavirus crash, according to a May 20-21 poll of 1,250 likely voters by Rasmussen Reports.
Fifty-nine percent of swing voting “moderate” voters and 56 percent of non-GOP, non-Democrat “other” voters agree that it would be “Better for businesses to raise the pay and try harder to recruit non-working Americans even if it causes prices to rise,” the poll says.
In contrast, just 27 percent of moderates and 20 percent of “others” told Rasmussen that it would be “Better for the government to bring in new foreign workers to help keep business costs and prices down.”
The poll arrives as President Donald Trump huddles with his advisers to draft curbs on a variety of visa programs. Trump’s curbs might free up many jobs for the many American graduates who face unemployment and poverty because of the Chinese coronavirus. However, many of Trump’s deputies put business priorities first and so favor the inflow of cheap labor for companies and investors.
Rasmussen also showed that Trump’s rhetoric of “Hire American First” policy is also supported by 73 percent of Republicans and conservatives. Just 16 percent of Republican and conservative voters agree with the business pro-migration strategy. [ ]
The “Hire American First” results were slightly muffled when Rasmussen asked about “higher-skill” jobs.
Lobbyists for many business groups insist they need more high skilled immigrants, even though many millions of skilled Americans have been pushed aside by outsourcing. This “high skill” pitch has been effective with legislators, congressional staffers, and journalists — even though many U.S. college graduates are more skilled than the “high skill” migrants demanded by business groups, say Indian migrants and U.S. managers. Exactly, there is a reason China grabbed so much mfg.
Clearly, our leadership does not care. They know they continue corporate welfare out of citizens mouth to help multi billion dollar companies. Sweetheart post office deals, tax dodging by not paying taxes that businesses who hire citizens pay.
And they laugh all the way to the bak because its corporate welfare or hillary. Because our leadership has really stood up to the opposition.. right after repetitive trillions in blue state bailouts. Just wait for it.
I drone on endlessly about this but the SWISS always buy SWISS.
They COULD cross over into France, for example, and buy food, BREAD, for heaven's sake, MUCH cheaper.
BUT, they support their own!
Good for them.
Americans will buy cheap because...
And China will continue to do what it does.
AND, be on the lookout NEXT winter for the newest Chinese flu. It will be in your supermarket before you know it!
There have been Chinese flus here YEARLY but THIS time we have to "mask-up." So keep your mask for next year.
BTW, I go out EVERY day, sometimes twice because NO ONE is going to tell ME to stay at home 24/7. They have NO right to do that!
It's annoying.
And I am ETERNALLY grateful to those supermarkets that were open, and the banks, garden stores, etc.
The big city Democrat machines are more likely to decide the election than any bloc or group of voters.
Doesn't that depend on the big city?
How many Indians, Pakistanis and Chinese do you see among all these misfits and losers?
Now you know why almost everyone in a position of leadership in American government and business is hell-bent on importing as many H1-B immigrants as possible.
There is a Democrat machine city in each state except I don’t know about Anchorage. All they need is one per state. A very few states will stymie the big city vote inventing but most will not. The big Demosocialist cities report vote counts last in their states and by that tactic are able to judge how many votes they need to add to the count, or “find” or whatever. It has been done regularly for decades in a couple of states. They know it will work just about everywhere and they are determined not to be “cheated” out of their Revolution this time around. Republicans will NOT do anything about it or say anything beyone, “Hey, we lost. Better luck next time.” There will be no next time.
Shades of Tammany Hall!
