Not sure. I think the Constitution forbids using soldiers against the citizens; it’s what happened in Europe at the time and the Founding Fathers didn’t want the same thing here. Using the national guard is completely different IMHO.

Not the Constitution. The Posse Comitatus Act, passed a century later.
