I think the Hennepin ME is trying to tapdance around the cause of death where asphyxia seems rather apparent. He’s doing so, I think, to try to limit the county’s liability but I think it just makes them look ridiculous. Whatever technical means caused his death, the knee to Floyd’s throat for seven minutes is what killed him.

Dr. Michael Baden, also working for the family, said the second autopsy shows that Floyd "had no underlying medical problem that caused or contributed to his death. ... He was in good health. The compressive pressure of the neck and back are not seen at autopsy because the pressure has been released by the time the body comes to the medical examiner's office.

So, he says he does not see any evidence of compressive pressure, but concludes that is what killed Floyd?

Has anyone got a link to the actual report/reports?

START MINUTE 0
1. The loser was DETAINED and CUFFED. Not a threat.
2. The loser was gasping for air.
3. The loser stopped breathing.
4. People all around were begging bitch-ass cop to GET OFF HIM.
5. Bitch-ass cop had NO situational awareness.
6. Bitch cop did NOT GET OFF THE NECK OF THE perp.
7. Loser died.
FINISH MINUTE 7

.WHAT’S YOUR POINT?

Cause they lie. Blood based drug screens take 6-8 hours at most. The wait queue could be weeks while the blood sits around in the fridge.

Could also depend on what lab they send it too and whether they pay for expediting results.

Pretty sure private labs have more, better and newer equipment than the county lab.

Here is something I heard on that subject that did make sense to me, paraphrase-

If someone is being slowly asphyxiated, they can still speak, but they are basically wasting precious and waning oxygen intake on that speaking, while at the same time they are not efficiently replacing that lost oxygen via breathing. So essentially, yes you can speak, and you are still slowly suffocating.

I was injured in an accident some years ago. My orthopedic surgeon wrote a summary and provided all records associated with the accident.

During the lawsuit the lawyers for the insurance company had me go to their surgeon for an opinion.

I met with him for only a few minutes. Miraculously he was able to write a report that said I was healed and in no pain.

Whodathunkit?

Hmmmm...

That is very suspicious, and I do see how that relates to this particular case.

Plus covid 19... But seriously, that cop had every indication he was killing by asphyxiation. The cop didn’t need a medical license or Nostradamus in the back seat of his squad car to tell him that. The cop was an arrogant jack ass who put a lit match to a sitting pool of gasoline. Dumb as a box of rocks.

I have been saying on this forum for over a decade that if the Law Enforcement establishment didn’t clean up their act they were going to regret it. They will at some point be hunted down in the streets and killed by communist agitators. Institutional arrogance has given the excuse and Marxists, communist agitators will use the disconnect between the Police and the communities go cause chaos. I really wish 10 years ago Police had reformed themselves. But they didn’t. Now they find they have few friends left.

Both are lying. The city ME is lying to give prosecutors a criminal case where none existed. The freelance ME is trying to secure a big tort claims payday for the family so a chunk will make its way back to him.

It’s impossible to trust the word of any “prime time” ME who makes a living by testifying at trial. Let an ME who isn’t a Diva do the autopsy.

Pressure doesn’t necessarily leave bruises or crush trauma. It just has to be enough to restrict blood flow (knee in neck) and reduce breathing enough (weight on back restricting breathing/lung capacity) to reduce the o2 levels in the brain to stop his heart.

The drugs wouldn’t have been helpful either. Pretty sure the amount or level in the blood will be a hotly contested point at trial.

Certainly, but for Baden to imply the vocal chords function without exhaling/breathing is total BS.

Asphyxia causes visible indicators on the body. They indicators are either there, or they are not.

Well, for one thing the MN examiner could simply be lying. This would be my bet.

Another thing to consider is that a blood choke will have different and more subtle indicators than an air choke. The MN examiner appears to have weasel-worded the preliminary report. The revised version seems to back off quite a bit from the original conclusions and does not exonerate the Officer.

The video shows a position that would have compressed the carotid artery, causing a blood choke. Even while not directly causing death, this can induce a heart attack which may cause death.

I believe that the Officer caused this death by deliberately using an unsound, unsafe, and unnecessary control technique. I am astonished and dismayed that that same technique is still included in the rules and procedures book.

Baden is on record as saying that Epstein didn’t hang himself. Baden also believes that there was a second shooter ‘on the grassy knoll’....

I think if someone is asphyxiated by being sat on won’t show the petechiae we think of from a neck strangulation. Someone can die of asphyxia from being in a sealed container for instance.

He also thinks there was a second shooter of JFK.

A FReeper chided me a couple days ago because I suggested that Baden likes the paid news gigs he gets from these paid autopsies

I was told that was a “smear” and that 80 year old Baden has a “sterling career”

I think I’ll stand by my own impression

That is my belief as well from watching the video. They might have revived him if Chauvin had gotten off him immediately when he went limp, but that addition nearly 3 minutes sealed it.
