One of the 4th generation Pritzkers, cousin of Gov. Creosote and Penny, moved to our rural county and funded a Waldorf School (1976+/-). The people who followed over the next 10 years (when the Pritzker scion left), were wealthy liberals from CO and NYS Anthroposophical communities, obviously sent here to seed the area with their ideology.
They began to run for school board and various township and county board positions.
Millions of state grants were flooding the area. There was a confluence of pot growers and an organic co-op, today called Organic Valley. “Change agents” appeared: wealthy, charismatic people who joined/began multiple local groups. In group meetings( everything from forestry to La Leche League)political candidates were pushed and anyone demanding equal time was shouted down.
Divisions appeared between town and farmers, when before there was a single culture.
I experienced instances of cognitive dissonance with people I thought were friends and who had *suddenly* become very PC, anti-Israel, confrontational and radical, not the laid-back Back To The Landers I had known. I cannot adequately describe these moments, as they involved changes in demeanor of people I had known for 15 years or more....you would have had to been there and known these individuals from earlier times.
I read the works of Rudolf Steiner, theosophists and the history of anthroposophy. Even then, (now the late 90s)there were *minders* on lists/forums critical of anthroposophy. Critical discussion was shut down. There is an occultism in the inner sanctums of Waldorf education and people who went public were doxxed and destroyed. (not us, but I knew those affected). If you are interested, use Wayback Machine, as links are now broken. It is even difficult to find the print versions of original writings of theosophists and anthroposophists. Many are out of print and very expensive even if found.
At the heart is Luciferianism. The Waldorf system creates mindless *creatives* who are the precursors of today’s *snowflakes*. It is/was a long term project aimed exactly at what education in general has become today. It is a totalitarian anarchy, if that makes sense. An anarchy directed from above with rigid boundaries and anyone who crosses them is expelled or relegated to an outer circle. But, within the community, anything goes.
The Theosophical underpinnings are loony-sounding to rational people, so people stop reading and walk away. But they are the philosophical foundation of what we are seeing acted out today.
All I can say is do the research and don’t just refuse because ‘it makes no sense’. It is diabolical. It makes enough sense to enough people that over 35 years it has adherents of one form or another everywhere. The upside down cross-wearers, the outright satanists, the luciferians, the theosophists, the anthroposphists, whatever other cultic groups have risen in the ranks of education/religion/government (Nexium; the acceptance of pedophilia; the various weird gender benders)in many, many diverse places and it is now coming together.
I have had local people sidle up to me over the years and whisper: “You were right” about the local governmental takeover (which was initially about control of a few million in local funds and then about millions more in state and federal grants through 3 administrations) and then say: “How did you know?” But, when I showed them the writings and drew the connections, they didn’t want to know because:”That’s crazy.”
Yeah, it is. I’ve actually tried to forget a lot of the details.
I’m 77 now, and I don’t care. I’m leaving this area for somewhere more remote and more conservative. But, if you’re interested, start with Theosophy and go on to Anthroposophy, Stiener and Waldorf and good luck finding discussion that is not cheerleading and PR.
It is difficult to rediscover the critics in any format not regulated by minders & nannies.
