In NYC the last thing you want to have happen to you is to be arrested on Friday night. If you are locked up you are in the holding cells with everything else arrested. The drunks, drug pushers, crazies, thugs, and what ever, not a pleasant group. You will then be taken to Ricker’s Island, Brooklyn House of Detention and other fun places in the City system. In these places are real live bad asses and you are theirs. Finally, if you behaved yourself with the corrections officers you go to a court in the borough you were arrested in and sit in their cells until it is your turn before the judge (not before Monday). Now depending on what you did and civil insurrection is not good, and how pissed off the Mayor’s PR people are, you could be sent back into custody for trial and you get to revisit your new playmates you met over the weekend. If you have a lawyer, he has to find you before he can help you and it is easy to “loose” you. I guarantee this will be one of the worst experiences of your life.
