The local noon news in Minneapolis on AM 1280 (“The Patriot”) did not mention the riots at all. The report on the subject consisted of four parts: a review of the police custody death as if it had just happened, the mayor’s comments about the incident, the fact that the police are investigating the death, and a comment from the Minnesota Vikings.
There was not a single word about the extensive riots that occurred last night in Minneapolis. I have always known about the power of the press to omit but this is breathtaking.
